Poll : Big or small ?
I know I'm gonna get "tecnicians" here with
"well what's the Calypso classed as"
Big - blade length 2 3/4" - 4"
Small - 1 3/4 - 2 1/2
I'll take my prejudiced "small" - as the SE
Cricket & other's of it's ilk ( MeerKat, etc ) Fit that "street legal" definition, cut almost as good as a larger size, and usually don't cost over $50.
AET

“Pole”, huh?
Agreed...
Mind, since the shortest distance between 2 points is a STRAIGHT line, a "reverse 'S'" or curvy blade, like the SPOT or Cricket, fits more cutting edge into a shorter blade...as does a serrated blade...so a short serrated and/or curvy blade can actually be more cutting edge than a long plain blade.
My favourite Spyderco is the SPOT, with its 35 mm blade.
-I'M- not trying to compensate for anything...still have my eye on a serrated Temperance, though.

Welcome back Allen. Why did it take you sooo **** long?
Speaking for my part, though I'm into small knifes, I oftenly find the need for a bigger one for my cutting chores.

I prefer Spyderco. I don't care if it's my Meerkat or my Perrin Bowie, it'll do.
