Pretty self-explanatory...After 12 yrs of EMS I hear sirens in my head (they drown out the voices )

Ah, kids. You name them, then one day they name you right back

Simple story is that I'm a Tolkeins buff from *way* back. Besides, Shards had a nice ring to it and was kinda apt for a knife site too IMHO when I first signed up.

Aloha Daywalker,
It seems like forever since I've been here.
(I moved to Colorado & have just now unpacked my computer)
I have always liked Willie & Waylon's particular brand/style of country music. It used to be called outlaw country.

Then there was the Southern Rock band, the "Outlaws" Remember the song "Green Grass & High Tides" ???
IMHO these guys were very underrated as a band. They are my all time favorite band so.... Outlaw

My nick name…. Geeeeeeeeeeee… I mean, I’ve got so much nick in my live, I remember my first one as “Nick la Trick” (this nick is coming from Bachelor’s party, remember the nude dancer with is D*** in the hot dog&#8230, that was when I was playing card almost full time(and winning that much)... Then it change and became “Tricky Nick” or Tricky Nicky”…

Then when I had long hair I got the unworthy nick of “Gars-fille” (mean boy-girl).
Then I’ve start to do some body building and the nick wasn’t really means full anymore so it evolves in a “Nick” that was always showing great respect… (And sometimes fear&#8230

I also got nicks that didn’t stay for a will, some are: Nikita, The King (not Elvis), QA’A (last pharaoh of the 1st dynasty&#8230 and many others…

For now I guest I’ve just choose this one because it was resent and short… I might I choose something more extravagant but all you guys out there got so amazing nick that I think I’m no match… LoL…

Alright, mine comes from the time my friend and I put about 200+ .223 rounds through my Dad's old dryer. I guess the sparks from the bullets going through the metal set the lint on fire, because it started smoking. I pryed what was left of the door open to see beautiful blue and green flames licking up the inside of the tumbler. We were in awe. We started tossing in anything flammable we could find to keep the fire going. Sometime during this retardedness Jon mentioned something about a Chasm of fire, then I said Pyrochasm! I use Pyrochazm because the letter z doesn't get enough use.

This is not a nick name I use normally outside of internet forums, typically teople call me Matt. In high school I had weird nick names: Gumby, Psycho (My two favorites, I still answer to them) And of course, The Seattle Globecracker.

Since I just signed up, that's easy. I've always had a "thing" for big cats. The strengh, agility, the sharp things (as he pictures a certain Spyderco t-shirt). The Bobcat was always my favorite. When I registered at BF, "bobcat" was taken. So I became Bobbcat, there and now here.

Well, it harkens back to high school. We wee the Knights. Considering Knight was taken back in 2000 (think it's opened up), I went for the Knight's traditional weapons of choice.

I lived for two years in Argyllshire, Scotland back when the U.S. Navy had a base at Holy Loch. Great country.

I've been this nym before Spyderco created their beefy folder. Retired early by the electrical deregulation debacle in CA, I relocated here where I had chased salmon virtually every vacation for the past 15 years. Living in the best camping spot we ever found during those years, 2 miles from the ocean and 4 miles from the mouth of the Rogue River we watch chinook salmon spawn on the gravel bar on Hunter Creek behind our house.

This evening we saw white egrets and kingfishers and otters on our creek, deer and their fawns browsing our fallen apples and those **** moles chasing our beneficial earthworms in the garden.

Now, that you mentioned, I think that more than 50% of the familly names end with "u". Never thought at this before. And the girls' first names usually end with "a" (over 85%, I suppose).

Mine's simple enough : my name w/ middle initial ( same as my e-mail ) Not that I'm
proud of my name, when people e-mail me I like to be addressed by my birth name

My choice for forum name comes from the fact that the Spyderco forum was the first forum I joined. It's an english place and my real name really doesn't sound english so, trying not to look too much like an outsider, I was looking for something with a cool sound to it, and being a movie guy and a fan of James Dean....tadaaaa Jimmy_Dean was born!

AET, good to see you posting! My user name is merely my first name and the first letter of my surname. I use it on several forums. I keep my last name confidential because my employer does not like us publicly expressing opinions on politics or weapons.

Allen,
Your back!!!
What are the augurers saying???

Mmmh, I thought we had this thread only a couple of months ago....but anyway:

I started my other and still primary obsession when I was in college: Inline Skating/Rollerblading. I picked it up quite quickly, but fell down alot as well, sometimes coming home a bloody mess (I guess you shouldn't start a long jump competition with speedskates). My housemate started to call me HoB, as acronym for "**** on Blades". These days I race competitively whenever I have time, which isn't too often. Its for fun anyway. Its funny though that both my hobbies involve "blades". The last few years a different nick name has cought on more and more though. To the people I am working with I am h-dog. I have no idea where that came from, started one day and stuck.
