Greeting from the New Guy.
Greeting from the New Guy.
Greetings to all forum members. I have been lurking in the wings for some time now and decided I should throw my hat in the ring!
I have used Spyderco knives for almost 15 years now after being introduced to them by a US GI whilst serving together. As I still shoot, hunt and a little fishing, Spyderco are never far away!!
A modest collection is now taking shape, (without permission of the wife!!) and I am starting to appreciate them as much for the pleasure of ownership as well as the practicality.
So, here's to the start of cyber conversation between like minds..........
Simon.
Happy Days!!!

Welcome to the Spyderco Forum, Simon. I hope you'll enjoy your stay here <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> What spydies did you get so far? <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

dialex,
Got myself a little collection of some 23 now. The CO5 Standard was my first followed by the CO9 Co-pilot, of which the Standard remained my favourite for some time!
The favourite now? It's like asking me to choose between my kids!! C52 Calypso Jr (experimental), C19 Terzuola Jr and C18 Goddard Jr compete for first place on a daily basis! The Herbst and Viele don't leave their boxes for the outdoors as they are just too **** pretty!! The Pro-Venator is the working knife, no argument.
I have my eye out for an ATR and a micarta Dyad Jr, if I can hopefully find the latter!!
Regards,
Simon.

Hi Simon and welcome to the Forum
Always nice to hear from another Brit Spydie fan <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> And a fellow shooter too.....
Sounds like you've got a nice collection going there.
Whereabouts in UK are you? I'm in the Newcastle area. Drop me a line if you fancy a natter.
Phil

Welcome Simon G! I know what you are going through Rat 54! My wife has taken to accenting her purse with my Spydies. First it was my Dragonfly, then my Meerkat, finally I gave her my old ex EDC, an nice boron coated serrated Kershaw Leek telling her that I'ts more ladylike being more sleeker and "Oh look Hon, it's assisted!". Well, just this morning I found my Leek on my desk and my Navigator missing. I think I need a lock on my Spydie box!

Simon G,
Welcome to the forum. Enjoy your stay. I'm curious about your C52 Jr (Experimental) Is it a burgandy FRN? I've seen a pic of a burgandy one. Don't know if it was experimental or prototype.
