New Jester Size

Post by Nicky »

Would you buy a G-10 delica's size Jester with a compression lock and a pocket clip?

Just asking for fun, but it could be very nice thought.

Yep, I think Spyderco currently misses a 2 3/4" G-10 drop-point knife in the line-up.
Preferably a 'straight' design like the Starmate.

Well Gents, if this is what you like so much, you don't have to ask for it. It's already there - go find a Wegner jr. and you're in business!!!!!!!

Clipits work!

Humm ... do I dare to confess? I once had a brand new PE (!) ATS-34 G-10 Wegner Jr...

I sold it (couple of years ago)

Funny! A view weeks ago I was wondering how a Delica with a Jester shaped blade would look like. Just for fun I made this picture (an lucky enough I kept it)...

Looks a bit strange but I would like a folder of this size with this bladeshape. The ATR has almost the same blade shape but right now I can't afford it and besides that I think I'd like it a tad smaller. Maybe a SS handled Delica with such a blade or just an upscaled Jester? I'd definitely buy one!!!

Cheers, Robert

Aloha!

I'd buy one for sure! But Jurphaas is kinda right. The Wegner is pretty close to it. I like lockbacks though, which is why I GAVE away my Wegner Jr...

BTW Rob, great rendition!

A larger knife with the Jester blade shape would be great, but would prefer a lock back to the compression lock myself. The Pro-Grip would be a natural starting point for something like this, as the current blade shape is already close to this, except for the forward finger rest. The only "problem" with that for me is that the current Pro-Grip case is right hand only and I'm a lefty. But if the FRN Pro-Grip case were revamped with Calypso Jr. style fish scale texturing and ambi clip, and the Jester style forward finger rest added to the blade, you'd have one sweet knife. Do the same case shape up in G10, with dual (to allow ambi clip mounting) skeletonized (to keep it light) liners and it would be totally awesome.
