Simple question ...

#1

Post by Lady of Darkness »

I'm asking for advice and hoping most of you know the topic better than I do.

I am looking for a special knife as a present for a special friend that can easily be clipped to garters and worn under dresses/skirts without showing ...

Any suggestions?

hummm....I'd say the cricket. It's small and thin and not only that, it works great!

And welcome on the forum btw

Welcome to the forum Lady.

I'd second Jimmy_Dean's Cricket recommendation. Of course, Delicas and Calypso Jr.s would probably fit the bill as well.

Having said that, it has been my (fortunate) experience that garters are meant to be shown .

Carbon Fiber Delica, thin, light and the look of the CF would be WOW in that carry mode.

The stainless Dragonfly sounds like the knife you're looking for.

Interesting question. I'd have to agree with the carbon fiber delica. On a related note, I had a friend who carried a neck knife on the center of her bra. Not completly sure how she did it, but all I know is that she could reach up her shirt and pull that sucker out so fast that you would be wondering where it came from.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure it was a CRK&T "K.I.S.S."

I agree with HoB. Get the FRN Dragonfly. It doesn't have the bulk of the Cricket and the frn clip doesn't obviously look like a knife clip.

Hi LOD - Welcome to this forum. I would suggest the C29 Cricket SS. It is now on the market and readily available in plain and serrated edge. The C29 SS is introduced only a few months ago and is very slim build. All the well ment advise involving Carbon Fiber models is not very usefull as these models were introduced many years ago, were very limited in numbers and are now in short supply.
Check "Toolshop,de" or "ACMA.de" for German supply.
Good luck.

Clipits work!

Lady of Darkness,
Welcome to the Spydie Forum!!!

I think you will need a knife under 2 oz, or it will pull. Anything too big will show under clothing. So I think a Jester, Ladybug, maybe a mini-Police necklace. Something very small, but useable. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Welcome to the Spyderco Forum. I'll second Jurphaas with the SS (stainless steel) Cricket reccommendation. It's small, slim and elegant. I'd rather go for the SE (serrated edge) one. Fits to the garters pretty well IMHO.
And yes, post some pics when you're done
