On-line Petition to have AET come back!!!

#1

Post by DAYWALKER »

Aloha ALL!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have been feeling the absence of Allen's presence a lil' more than I'd like to EVERYTIME I come here!

AET may be readin', he may not be. A part of me just wanted to sit back and respect his decision to leave "home". But **** it, it feels as if there is a "void" here now w/o AET!

He started a petition here for my design to be made, so I'm petitioning to either have him come "home", or AT THE VERY LEAST, let him know that he is very much missed...

Any other <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>friends been "feelin' it"?

God be w/ you AET, you are greatly missed here.

God will put you over...if you let Him! John 14: 13,14...try it, it WORKS!

I miss his posts, I was always looking for his name in the Author section. Everyone might not have agreed with everything he wrote, but his posts were always entertaining and thought provoking.

You know how I feel Bro! Each <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> Forumite adds just the right spice to the mix, When I come here to get a <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> taste in between knife buys, there's a little spicey void now that must be filled .

I didn't know AET that well, but I don't think he knows how much he's missed and cared about. You can't spend that much time unloading and sharing thoughts with people and not have some kind of bond with them.I enjoy Everyone's on-line personality (the spice)comments, pictures very much.
I just want to say you are all appreciated and cared about. Your a Great group of Minds , I wish I could put you all around a big table for an evening of <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> feasting and chat!<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
Cheers to you all and Thanks,AET come back!

Be @ Peace

Another vote for the return of AET! I didn't really understand why he left, and was a little bit worried by the tone of his "parting shots" post, so I really hope he's OK.

Funny how the people who gave him flak about his OT posts haven't been geting off their butts ("on" their butts?) and posting a flood of interesting on-topic things in AET's absence...I've noticed the forum has been pretty slow moving compared to a month or two ago. The forumula for good conversation is a dynamic equation -- you have to mix it up. I often find that OT posts "break the ice" when it gets slow around here and end up sparking original ON TOPIC ideas. It's not like a group of friends would go sit at a bar after a knife show and ONLY talk specifically about knives face-to-face. That's ridiculous, and people don't communicate that way. Why should the internet version be any different?

(Case in point: In The Spyderco Story, Sal Glesser said that he got the idea for putting a clip on a pocket knife from a little frog-shaped keychain that he had that "sat" on the edge of his pocket. What if Sal was pitching that idea to someone and said, "So I was looking at my keychain the other day and..." and someone cut him off and said "What does your STUPID keychain have to do with knives?? STAY ON TOPIC!!!"??)

I've always enjoyed Allen's posts, on or off topic. We had stayed in contact via phone or email...

After he made that last post, he's not returning emails. I'll have to dig his number out...

EDIT: his last email in the account is 6/19, so he hasn't dropped off the planet.

You have hit the nail on the head!

I would feel better if I knew he was OK!

I really hope Allen is OK. I miss him too. A lot. He is a close personal friend of mine. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> Too bad I didn't get in contact with him lately. <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> I know he has some serious health problems, that's why I'm worried <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Aloha ken (from Oz)

So you KNOW where AET's been hanging out? Can you let us know if he's alright if ya see him? I think that just knowing this would ease a lot of the worrying about him...

BTW- Mahalo for your kind words! Yes, I do get mad! LOL! I try to have an outlet for it mentally, spiritually , and physically though so it doesn't "blind me" or build up inside. when I get mad, I pray about it, Psalm 3:5 is good to meditate on, or I'll do something physical like practice my MBC stuff or empty hand CQ stuff. Then there's my electric guitar. I'll throw in some metal or something and just play it LOUD...I try to release it constructively. I dunno if ya read my Father's Day post, but an inmate tried to throw his urine sample at me. After i took him down and cuffed him I was mad. My knees are feeling it now. It always happens SO fast, there's no time for an emotion check when it's hitting the fan. This dude is about 5'10 or so, and I stand 5'4 depending on my boots! LOL! The Med unit nurse was SHOCKED. She didn't think I could "do that" because I'm so "quiet"...and short. LOL! Oh well...

Anyway, AET if you're reading this, you truly are missed and cared about my friend.

God will put you over...if you let Him! John 14: 13,14...try it, it WORKS!

I miss AET, too.
Also I agree with timlara that his latest post has the ominous style of someone at the end of the road.<img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
It would be nice to know he's fine, at least.

Come back AET!<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

I concur with the rest of the spyderco-forum-family. I myself have been gone for a little while now and it's sad to come back and see that such a wonderful contributor has gone missing. I hope all is well and I hope you return some time soon.

Allen, I hope you read this. You are a good man, and not only a valuable contributor to this forum but lend much character to this place. Anyone who does not agree needs merely to not click on Allen's threads.

Mahalo for the support <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>friends...

Allen, I can safely assume that you can KNOW we'll ALWAYS be here for you...IF you come "home", great!

If not, well, you read the replies...you are missed a great deal.

If you're reading this, I hope you didn't find this thread disrespectful, I honestly felt as if "something wasn't right" coming here and not seeing AllenETreat anywhere.

God be w/ you my friend...
