Golden, CO accident I70 collapse

#1

Post by ADS »

This is from CNN's website as breaking news,

"At least three killed when overpass collapses onto Interstate 70 near Golden, Colorado. Details soon."

I hope the Spyderco family is alright and that many more people are not found to be injured or worse.

ADS,

Just caught it on Fox. Looks like one SUV was crushed by a collapsed girder and killed three occupants. The interchange leads to the ski areas and is well traveled. Could have been much worse.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those who lost loved ones and I hope and pray the folks at Spyderco are safe and sound.

Still alive & kickin', Ken! That overpass is pretty close to the SFO store, though, so I'm kind of glad I didn't make my typical Saturday trip out there. Any number of fatalities is inexcusable, but thank goodness the collapse didn't happen during a higher traffic hour.

The crazy part is that I haven't had the TV or radio on all day, so I didn't even know about the accident until I saw it here!

Good to see some people from the area responding. This is the 1st time I am hearing of this.
Since this is close to the SFO lets make sure those who work there or family members are ok.

4 victims actually, Husband, Wife, 2-year old daughter, and mom was 3-months pregnant.

DOT got a 911 call about an hour before the I-beam sagged (it had rolled then the weight of it made it sag) but it appears that the call got lost in the translation, a DOT crew got sent out there to look for a falling Sign.
