I agree on the S30V, although I'm torn on the flat grind as I really do like the lines on the old blade, including the swedge at the top...

John F Jensen's also got some Starmates on hand (combo edge):

A big ol' flat ground Starmate in either VG-10 or S30V with either FRN or G10 sounds like just the ticket to me.

Personally I'd take what is offered.<img src="tongue.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
But, since we're making suggestions:
VG-10 or S30V with Micarta handles and steel bolsters.
Nice and hefty.<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Flatgrind S30V Starmate is the one. The one and only. The Holy Grail.

We have four C55GPS, Starmates with 50/50 blades left in stock on closeout.

I don't post prices here, you need to look at our web site.

The Starmate happens to be my favorite Spyderco. I've been carrying mine since they were first introduced.

i would personally want to keep the grind it has presently, unsure of name. i think it adds to the charactor of the knife itself, putting a flat grind on it would deter from the classic look, but that is one mans personal opion, i can see why the flat grind would be preferred though. thought i would add my 2 cents. Thnx

I have a plain edged Starmate, but I never really carry it. Nice knife - but a little too big for me....

Hello All!

I think that the original Starmate is a great knife. I would still be interested in a new knife, even more so if it had a nice shell inlay!
