Where do you clip your Knife

#1

Post by Kaizer »

Hi people,

Just wanted to understand where on your clothes do you clip your knife / folder. If it doesn't have a lcip, then how do you carry it?

I carry my Spyderco Co pilot (Today's EDC) clipped to the LHS pocket of my slacks. The pockets are the "formal cut", that is not like a typical jeans pocket. And i carry only one EDC always in the same place.

Thanks for your inputs.

Hae a great day,

Kaizer.

Aloha!

being that I live in Hawaii, mostly IWB for me due to wearing "surf shorts" most of the time. Works out great as I can access knife with either hand.
Even if I wear a pair of jeans shorts, I still IWB my Clipits. BUT, if I expect lottsa use, Right side pocket.
BTW, great knife the Co-Pilot...the ONLY reason I stopped using mine was because there are brass liners between the SS scales and blade. Didn't know it is a rare one!

Welcome back Kaizer!( and a good thread!)

My SE Cricket can end up on my R/H jacket
pocket of pants pocket in the front R/H
( that place is currently occupied by my
PE reverse "s" MeerKat )

What I like best about the CLIPIT concept
is one isn't regulated to carrying a knife
in a sheath ( or pocket ) but with that clip
you can do that - or CLIPIT to any pocket
inside ( or, like in places such as FLA outside ( save one has that expensive permit
to carry "concealed" )) pants or jacket.

The clip also works to CLIPIT to a visor
of a car, in a briefcase or ( for ladies )
a handbag or purse.

That and the hole & edge make the concept truly unique.

Lately: Paramilitary in right front jeans pocket. If I've got a shirt pocket, lightweight Cricket or Jester goes in there.

If I've got a jacket on, there's bound to be at least one more mini Spyder in there somewhere.

If I've got cargo pants/shorts on with multiple pockets...watch out! It gets scary.

RF Pocket basically same as HoB.
Cricket usually resides unclipped in the LF pocket but has been known to pull itself up and clip to the watch pocket (RF) for a look around.

There's alway's one cliped to the top/rear of my right front pocket. I use to carry a secondary little/big knife on the oposite. Now, it rides cliped to the top/rear of my right rear pocket. RKBA!

Jester on my key ring, which is either clipped to my shoulder bag or in my left front pocket when not in use. A larger is usually carried unclipped in left back pocket. The three that see the most carry time on work days are my jigged bone Kiwi, grey Calypso Jr., and Schempp Persian. Right now, with the Persian out for some mods, been adding a Rookie and a stainless "Baby" Jess Horn to the rotation. On the weekends either my S30V Native or JD Smith usually winds up in the left back pocket. On the rare days when I'm forced to wear a jacket and tie, my C27 Jess Horn or white micarta "Baby" Jess Horn rides clipped in the inside jacket pocket.

Hmm, anyone else favor IWB, middle of the back. I usually keep it on the right side of the beltloop, sometimes even angled to keep it under my belt. I also usually have a butterfly in my front or back right or in the cell phone pocket in my cargos.

R cargo in shorts (I always buy cargo shorts)

RFP in jeans - sometimes another knife deep in back pocket.

I work in one of those "business casual" places. So, I normally wear a polo shirt or sweater and a pair of khakis.
I always made it a point to buy the brand of Dockers that had a separate pocket hidden within the RFP. I guess it is for keys, change, etc. I clipped my knife in there. So, I had a deep pocket carry that was clipped for stability. Worked GREAT.

Lately, I've migrated to Levis cargo pants in khaki. I keep a sheeple friendly knife in RFP and a bigger one in R cargo - the flap hides most of the clip.
