One for knife topic:
That ain't a "knife"...now "This" is a "Knife". (who said that)

ken, that's too easy:
Paul Hogan in Crocodile Dundee, pulling out a big bowie.
Get this:
"You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig."
Few people think more than two or three times a year; I have made an international reputation for myself by thinking once or twice a week. -George Bernard Shaw

"Typical WOP! Brings a knife to a gun fight."
From "The Untouchable"
My current favorite, which is unfortunately already being used as a signature by some one on this forum:
"No all who wander are lost"
J.R.R. Tolkin through the feather of Bilbo Baggins describing Aragon in the first volume of The Lord of The Rings. However, it struck a note with me when I read Prof. Kroto describing his research which lead to the discovery of the "bucky balls" (fullerenes) and ultimately to him receiving a nobel prize. The quote gives me hope that I am still wondering in my own research and that I am not totally lost yet...even though it feels like it.
In speed I trust

Col. Jessup from <b>A Few Good Men</b>
"Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Whose gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinburg? I have more responsibility here than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago, and you curse the marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And that my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. I know deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you don't want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then question the manner in which I provide it. I prefer you said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand to post. Either way, I don't give a **** what you think you are entitled to."

Sword and Shield gets one point.<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
Vampyrewolf: Boondock Saints, right at the beginning by S.P.Flanery as Connor MacManus
J Smith has me wondering: the second and third quote ring my bell, but don't quite connect.
Anyway, riddle me this:
"Give an Arab a sword, he makes a knife. When you die can I give that to my daughter?"<img src="tongue.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
