Me : SOG ( harkens to my Army "daze" )

I rather liked Delta Z ( that stiletto! <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>)

But they went outta business. <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

I also collect old stiletto lockbacks

( the autos have a tendency to break )

What say the augurers?

HHUMM,haven't really thought about it.I was going to say Benchmade but I don't guess that would be true because I don't own one but it was the first one that poped up in my head.
I guess it would be Busse, its the only other knife besides Spyderco that I own.

Allen-

This is a good question...
I like these spydies and it is the one I carry all the time .

But-

I would say "GERBER" the older models "military type" the guardian series and the mark I. I like a fixed blade dagger style. Also like "BUCK" again there fixed blades like te Scout 107, and the m9 and 184 navy seal knife...

Now spydie needs more of a selection on fixed blades.

I'll "e" ya later,

For production folders I would say either Almar(SERE 2000) or Microtech(LCC) or I guess my MOD MK II. Tough call. FB's would be my Buck M-9 or the Cuda CQB I used to have.
I really like my customs though and would put those on par with my Spydies for sure. George Tichbourne Wood Century and Small Military model. Also my Lightfoot Max Velocity. Take Care!!!

Cold Steel, probably. Despite some minor hassles with my Triple Action, I've found their products to be comparable to Spyderco in terms of value for the money, out of the box sharpness, ergonomics, and edge retention.

Custom... Lot easier to tweak a 80usd custom than put up with a 100use production that can't be tweaked.

Look at what you get for 200usd for a production fixed, then look at what 200usd gets you for a custom fixed... BIG difference. Working on a 2nd tichbourne, modifying the tip on a Wilderness bowie(more towards the drop point shape for a bush blade, stronger tip). Thats going to run me around 300cad... Doing a knife sale in april or may to clear my collection and get some cash.

Ken Onions' Kershaws w/ speedsafe are fun. Don't think I'll ever afford one of his customs though...

I like Kershaw and have quite a few (FB) CRKTs.

Hopefully get a CRK folder sometime too.

I don't have too many knives that aren't Spydies, but I really love my Al Mar Shrike and Swamp Rat Camp Tramp.

I really like my Kershaw Chive and the DeltaZ prototype. Though not spydies, they are neat made and nice looking.
From the ones I'd like to have, there is the MoD Ladyhawk, Razorback and CQD Stealth and the MT Vector and Scarab.

Another Delta Z fan now cast adrift. Their quality and service were second only to Spyderco. Barnaby Z is a great guy to chat with and stood behind his knives until closing time. Have some Benchmades, MODs, CRKTs, Gerbers, and Cold Steel but nothing matches Spyderco for the value and service. For fixed blades I'm into the Vox line pretty heavily now and will be looking to pick up some the late Rob Simonich's mid-Techs soon.

For folders, I have a set of Al Mar Ospreys in the mail. I like the way the Shrike handles and Mrs Java has her eye on Sere. Prices aren't so bad on Al Mar's on e-bay and through some retailers.

Make Favourite model
MoD LadyHawk (auto or manual)
Al Mar SLB
Extrema Ratio MPC

Other favourites are my Hideaway curvy and some Daltons.

My father always taught me not to trust a man who was not interested in cars, guns and knives.
