Whatever happened to the "Rookie"
Whatever happened to the "Rookie"
A few years back I passed up a chane to get a G10 Rookie (basically a baby police mod. ) . One issue I have with Spyderco is that they often drop good produts , Ie. the Bob T. Starmate . What products would you like to bring back .

Talk to Yasuhito! Though he has no Rookies listed he can get hold of them at great prices.

CDF I feel your pain my friend, I foolishly swapped away 1 G-10 SE Rookie last year.
A long time customer and friend let me have a PE in G-10 as payment on some work, needless to say this 1 will not leave South Carolina.
They can still be found though and when you do get 1 keep it! or I will gladly take it off your hands <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>.
I agree on the discoed <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> models seems we never miss a certian knife until it's too late.
Reality is that <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> has to drop a few models to make room for the new stuff. Ron

I think I'm sort of a dinosaur. What I like most are still the good old models. I'd love to see an updated version of the Rookie. SS is fine with me, as it's so similar to the classy" Police <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> Yet... if they're out of G-10, I can live with CF instead <img src="tongue.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
I'd also love to see the C-05 Standard back.

I am the happy owner of a SSPE Rookie and I won't let it go!
It is my first <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> and longtime EDC.
I'd love to see a CF Rookie, too, Dialex.<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
Other than that, I'd like another Walker collaboration.
Blackhawk and Renegade look fascinating as well. Maybe PE in Micarta with steel bolsters?
Makes me tingly all over!<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Check out www.KnifeCenter.com for a Rookie ; failing that I'd recommend New Graham. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> or A.G. Russell ( a factoid :
he has the Jess Horn(?) SS clipit )
For the Starmate :
www.PVK.com
Just $99 + $6 shipping PE -or- CE
AET
Let me win your hearts & minds, or I'll burn your **** huts down!

I've been looking in vain for a PE Rookie or Jess Horn in SS and sure wish they were still in production. Love small compact SS Spydercos, especially with clip-its.
Am making do with a pair of SS Jesters coming in the mail soon. No clip-its on them unfortunately. A slim 2 1/2" PE SS with a clip-it under 2 oz. would be ideal for me...
