OT What do you do for a living?

I figure this has been done before, but I haven't seen it. I know we have a couple of CO's here, and at least one computer type, and more than one pro knifemaker.

I'll start: I have the best "job" in the world, probably one of the hardest, and most rewarding. I am a stay at home dad. Yep take care of the kiddies all day(2 of them). No brakes but I can take lunch anytime I want.

Well, like Civilian I'm sort of a house dad, now taking care of the dog and the house. Was an industrial purchasing agent for about 30 years. Laid off in August 03. Just returned to work for two days this week but due to a misunderstanding with the company, now back to the house dad described above. What next?...........who knows?

I'm a psychologist, mostly working with health problems---chronic pain, morbid obesity and sleep disorders. Keeps me off the streets!

I'm a waiter. At 19, I probably should be saving for college, but lately I've been finding that I'm just saving for my next knife. The fact that I'm utterly enamored with the Spyderco line (thanks to my SS Harpy and brief exposure to a G10 Civilian) is gonna bankrupt me, I just know it. But at least I'll be the best-armed vagrant around. >_<

I'm currently in law school which I guess makes my profession: professional student.

Or, as a more accurate response to the question "What do you do for a living" I'd have to answer: I do nothing! (except during the summers).

Aloha!

What not many people would do...but it's one of the more higher paying jobs here in Hilo, and since I took on the responsibilty of having a family, well, it goes w/o saying that i must provide for them!

coming up on 11 months as a tarp maker...

my job for the last 2 has been sweet, working graveyard for 9.70 an hour... was a pain going up a tax bracket though(1.50/hr raise for graveyard). I made $50 a month more working at 8.20/hr.

I get paid to walk for 8hrs. literally. I pull off the roll for about 3hrs, and the other 5 I spent walking between tables pulling the fabric off just over a foot... 4 panels of 12' width, and then I fold. 70-85lbs every 4-5min depending how hard we feel like pushing.

Apprentice Machinist. Should have my ticket in another year. Some shuffling at work put me off the lathe for awhile. The car accident didn't help much either should be back to work in 2-3 weeks.

Background in Civil, but I've been in Environmental Engineering for the last 15 years. I work for one of the largest environmental regulatory agencies in the country, dealing with air and water pollution issues.

I supervise the copyediting and assist with the manufacturing of law books for tax lawyers. It is not quite beach reading, and so to help liven things up I usually have my knife purchases shipped to me at the office. Of course, I have to open them with my door closed.

I don't have to do anything to earn a living - now. After 30 years as a forester (4 s ter) I retired a 2 1/2 years ago. Now I just wait for those HUGE pension checks to roll in (yeah sure )
