I'm a Chief Master Sergeant with the Royal Netherlands Air Force for 34 years now. I'll retire in 1.5 years. I then buy Spyderco and live happily ever after!
No, seriously, I have performed many jobs over the years. I was a Fire Control Officer with the NIKE Hercules missile system, I have been involved with Internatioal Jet Pilot Training at Sheppard AFB in Texas, later been involved with the F-16 Conversion training at ANG Tucson, AZ. Have been stationed at our RNLAF HQ Operational Center in The Hague. Switched to the Operational Medical Corps to manage medical training for Doctors and NCO's and I current overlook a medical dept. at our National Military mustering facility. Like I said, "time flies when you're having fun".
Clipits work!

During the day I work full-time as a mechanical designer/technical writer, and part-time with several different jobs: spousal support representative, chauffeur, short order cook, storyteller, arbitrator, referee, coach, handyman, landscape designer, and animal care specialist. At night, when the house is finally quiet, and at least by avocation, I am a computer animator/short fiction writer until I fall asleep—with my face planted firmly against my computer’s screen and drool dripping onto the keyboard.

I've been an Episcopal priest for almost 25 years, serving parishes in CT. I also am an internationally famous designer of saltwater fishing flies. My flies are tied in Thailand and wholesaled through Umpqua in OR. i was the first woman who became what is called a "royalty tyer." My flies are sold out of LL Bean and Orvis, and hundreds of other places all over the world. I teach fly tying & do demonstrations in my spare time.

Well I started out my working life during the summers with my dad who was a contractor masonary mostly which is hard! work.
The my Grandpa on my mothers side got me a job in a machine shop durig the summer where 4 of my uncles also worked.
I slowly learned to like this job because at 1st all I did was sweep up and watch the marvelous machines turn raw steel into what seemed to a 15 yr old art.
after high school and my stint with uncle sam and 2 kids later I went from several different construction jobs, learned to run any heavy equipment that dug, graded or chopped (After the hot summers we have here a air conditioned track hoe with a nice stereo seemed like heaven to me) .
During this time I also got my class 3 liscense which as everyone knows turned into the modern CDL.
A freak accident in which I was hit by a Ford truck pinned me under the wreckage and almost killed me.
By the grace of God and 3 very skilled doctors I made it through with major back injuries.
Seven operations later and 3 years in rehab had gotten me back to walking with a limp and much time on my hands.
From the settlement I paid off everything I had.
House,trucks,cars everything.
My family was lucky to own land so I didn't have to worry about that part atleast and now have about 150 acres of good ole S.C. farmland.
I studied alot took courses at my local tech college and furthered my education while I was rehabing the back injury.
I tried going back to my job as a long haul trucker, but 46 year old men, 12 hrs in a Kenworth and a weak back just don't mix well.
I had always hunted, fished, and had a burning passion for guns, knives and boating.
Atfer reading these forums on a daily basis my beautiful wife Joyce asked 1 day why don't you try your hand at making knives?
DING!!! well now I have my own shop and found my calling in life, so in a way I suppose I've come full cirlce in life from that early machine shop job.
I'm sure I have bored everyone enogh with this post SOOOOO
So to answer the ? asked. I am a learning knife maker. . Ron

I am a single mother of three great kids. Seven years ago I sold my shares in a large commercial contracting company that I was CEO and President over finance, marketing and personnel. I am a student off and on and most recently as of August the fiance of Mancer. With Mancer living in South Africa and I in Utah, traveling back and forth gets hard but we manage. I am also a writer and one day hope to finish at least one book and have a publisher pry it from my fingers long enough to tell me if I am any good at it

As most of you know by now, I'm a corrections officer in an extremely large maximum security prison.
For six years, I served on CERT (Corrections Emergency Response Team). For two of those years, I served as a sniper on the team.
My hobbies are working out, drawing, history, guns, and knives (when I can afford them, which isn't often these days). And, of course, my wife and two children take up the majority of my time when I'm not in ****....er, work.
I also am an instructor for a number of subjects for the Dept. of Corrections (Gangs, Riot Baton, Tactical Shooting, Riot Control, Chemical Munitions, and a bunch of other crap).

I am currently production manager in a printing workshop. Used to be in charge with the DTP and system administration (things that I still do, despite my new function).
Used to be a woodcutter, than forrester, than I was into marketing / management (licensed economist). Notto mention here the small jobs I had during college (from auto mechanic to bouncer in a bar). Finally I ened up into computer graphics and I got "stuck" into the printing industry.
God will I will become a knifemaker in a few years (still in the learning process).
