Welcome to the forum, diananike!
Currently I love Edguy (german metal), Probot (metal by Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters and formerly Nirvana) and the No Sports (the finest german ska band).
Btw., cool that this thread still generates posts.

Aye, Silverback, good to see this post again. German Ska band???? Most interesting have to give a listen. Vox turned me on to D.A.D. - a Danish cow-punk-metal band - and I've been a fan for a year or two now. Never understood why they didn't make it like The Scorpians did over here. My favorite D.A.D. discs are "Everything Glows" and "No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims". Tough to find over here but always keep an eye out on E-Bay.
Todays favorites in the changer are;
Evanescence
3 Doors Down - Away from the Sun & The Better Life
Jet - Get Born (Auusie band sounds like AC/DC meets The Beatles)
Dirty Vegas
Enigma - Cross of Changes
Dada - El Subliminoso
Three Days Grace
Nat King Cole - The best of..
Strange musical brew kind of matches the Kona and Matte infused Columbian I started the day with...jam or mellow out....mellow out or jam...I'm so confused after being infused.

Yeah, it's cool to see other Tom Waits fans around here. Thought I was the only one left!
A few years ago, I enjoyed Korn, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit but they all went down hill.
Now it's more, The offspring, Sheryl Crow, Ozzy, Daniel Lavoie, Elvis and Wyclef Jean.
Anybody else know and appreciate Smoke? Maybe you know the Cohen/Sillen documentary "Benjamin Smoke". If you can, grab a copy, it's fantastic!! especially for those who like Waits music.

You'll be confused but I'll mention a few anyway:
* Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa
* Arnold Schoenberg
* (early) Karlheinz Stockhausen
* (again, early) Shorter, Hancock
* Pat Martino
* Sonic Youth
* Nocturnus
If you can point out a pattern, you're ahead of me. There's no logic to my taste - but I don't care!

Another hot one I can't stop playing:
Check out Tenacious D, they rock!
It's the actor Jack Black from "High Fidelity", "School of Rock" and also the guy that builds and gets killed by the autogun in "The Jackal" and his friend Kyle Gass.

Boy, there are soo many I like:
Sade, Santana, Bee Gees, Gazebo, Gary Moore, Imagination, ABBA, GoGo's(thanks Daywalker for reminding me of them girls) , Queen, G. Michael and M. Jackson (the songs he used to sing when he was nice and black), Oscar Benton (anyone remembers "Bensonhurst Blues" anymore?), M. Bolton (lots of "Michael" if I look well) , Loona (or Mecano, it's the same thing), Thalia and Natalia Oreiro, J. Iglesias (that's my wife's very favorite, but I enjoy it too), and I'm sure there are so many others I can't remember right now.

Pyrochazm:
Yeah, and there's a song for the ladies on the album, too.
(but fellas, listen closely)
God, I wish they would make a karaoke DVD of it; we have a karaoke pub night where I would love to sing it...

O.K., I can't keep it in any longer:
ALL ROCK ADDICTS MUST LISTEN TO VELVET REVOLVER.
IF YOU DON'T YOUR LIFE WILL BE INCOMPLETE.
Their debut album "Contraband" is perfect.
They're made up from most of Guns'n'Roses and Scott Weiland from the Stone Temple Pilots.
It's as if the early 90s are back in force.
