About New Graham

#1

Post by ajnova »

I went to e-mail Mike Dye at New Graham a last minute question before I go and order my first Spyderco tomorrow. Don't know which one it will be yet... heh

Anyway the e-mail bounced back, resent and back it came, tried e-mail the webmaster and that bounced back. And minutes ago tried Mike again and it bounced back.

This is giving second thoughts from ordering from them.

Any thoughts?

Something could be happening with their server, etc. I've heard nothing but great reports about New Graham. Try giving them a telephone call.

I would suggest that you call Mike, since I've also heard about some problems with his email addy.

I ordered a couple of Calypso Jrs. around Christmas time and I found that calling and inquiring about my orders, over the phone, was the best way to get my questions answered.

I wouldn't hesitate on ordering from them again....plus, you get free band-aids!! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

I have usually called my orders in. That seems to work well. New Graham is a pharmacy. They sent me a postcard once that shows an old-fashioned building in a small town. They really exist, and I have always had good service from them. I have probably bought 10-15 knives from them. When I call they always put me on hold while they go back on put their hands on the knives and confirm their presence and availability. I have had zero problems with them.

I just ordered some items from them today. I always order over the phone. I have never had any problems from them. In fact, they are amoung the friendliest I've ordered from. You might want to just call them. Remember, the internet has only been around so long and Ccmputers are still in the early stages.

I've dealt with New Graham several times over the past few months, and what everyone else is saying is right on target.

I've been calling my orders in lately because It helps me to get to know more of the "community."

Hi!
I have had the same problem with newgraham. Email bounced and no one could tell me why...
This was shortly after X-mas, so maybe they had a lot of load on their server?
Anyway, I called and everything worked out fine.
And yes, Mary Beth is nice.
... and they gave me an alarm clock that is most annoying, wakes me up every time! ;-)
... and free band-aids!
Just go ahead and order from them.

And if anyone finds out whats wrong with their email, please post your findings!

I've ordered two from them, and there's never been a problem. I like keeping small places like that in business. First time I called they said "Call back in a few minutes, the woman that handles the knives has gone to the bank" If I get another spyderco, it will probably be from them

Alright guys you got me sold on New Graham! I just now need help with my last minute question I posted in a new topic... Also attached...

"I went to a local sporting good store today to handle a few Spyderco's before I go and order...

I handled 2 Delica's plain edge and Native Combo Edge... Few questions about them...

I don't know if this is how they were suppose to be or not - hence asking you guys!

The Delica's blade seem tighter then the Native - like opening and closing. Native was obviously easier to open because of this.

On all three, it seem to me the lock was too easy to push in. It didn't seem to take much pressure at all to push in the lock. Maybe this is how they should be - especially this all three were like this. I hope I never accidently disengage the lock when using it!

FYI I think I'll call New Graham, ask about blade play in their Calypso Jr.'s. If they are OK, order one of them and a Native plain edge. If there is blade play - order Delica plain edge and Native Combo.

Thank you guys SO much for your continued patience and help! I'm feeling very good about becoming a Spyderco customer!"

I've ordered almost all of my Spydies from them, and never had a problem. I usually just order from their website, but if I have a question, I just call. I've never had a problem with them. I called a couple of weeks ago to order a plain-edge Salt I and the Ladybug-photon combo. While I had the gentleman on the phone I asked him about a Surefire flashlight I wanted but they were out of. He gave me the rundown on Surefire's new policy and explained why they wouldn't be carrying them anymore. Definetly great customer service.
