I have all my knives in a lockable display case, except one of my Police knives was out that I had just sharpened.



One of my sister's friends comes over and sees a poster of Carmen Electra on my wall and sees the knife sitting on my nightstand. He picks it up, opens it up and starts waving it around on certain areas of Carmen's body saying "this area is nice" and pointing with it.



I told him if he ****ed anything up, the knife or the poster I was gonna beat the hell out of him. After I said that about three more times he closes the knife with his index finger in the area where the blade would fold down. I said.. "uh you just cut yourself" He said "no I didn't"



I then said "You don't know how sharp it is" and he looked at his finger and it was gushing blood basically, there's some on the carpet and in the sink. He might need stitches.



And that folks is why you get a locked display case...in case idiots come over.

I sharpen my knives so they shave... even serrated. The funny one is my dragonfly... doesn't shave, but will cut like nothing. Keep seeing ppl run a finger down the blade and then look at me like I shot em.

I've had ppl try to close my knives like I do, and close it on a finger(not looking, just thumb the lock and flick the wrist), or they jab themselves quite nicely by not knowing where the tip it. I've even had someone at work try to do the grip change-over drill with my knife and cut themselves nicely.

Everyone who knows me knows about my knives. I no longer give the "careful it's sharp" warning. I tell em, you damage it you buy it.

Yes, it is a good idea to keep your knives away from adults. Children are usually more mature and careful. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> Seriously, I keep my knives to myself. If someone is not accidentally cutting themselves, they are using a fine knife as a pry bar or screwdriver instead of the intended purpose. At work, when someone askes to borrow a knife, I screen them with a few questions, and if they truly need a knife, I usually make the cuts myself.
