delica ,faster than a box cutter

Post by 3knife »

i work mantenance in a truck stop, the super called ,a plastic bag had got wrapped around the rollers on the hot dog cooker. he said you got a box cutter, i said no he went to get one, but before he could ,i whipped out the delica and peeled the bag off. our employee hand book says no knives or weapons. he never said a word. of course i only carry 3 knives (tools), plus a leatherman super tool.. just goes to show you a spyderco is faster than a box cutter....

? what does it all mean?

Where was he going to get a box cutter? Isn't a razor blade just as "dangerous" as your Delica? Isn't it funny how the policy is selectively applied to 2 different objects that perform the same utility?

Obviously you & your super have some common sense when it comes to employee hand book. ;^)

My god man, what were you thinking????

You could have seriously lacerated some wienies...Not to mention what you could have done to some buns, whaling that knife around like you did. I don't think anything would be safe. Think of the "HORROR!"

Your lucky you weren't fired. But seriously that knife might be faster but have you ever tried cutting roof shingles, sheetrock, carpet, ect. with that knife? I guess some tings are best left for a box knife. And yes isn't it strange that a razor knife would be O.K., but not a folding knife...kind of lame huh?

Enjoyed your story anyway,

Ken: you'd be surprised what I've cut with my old delica... 3yrs of use before making a gift of it.

I've cut insulation, sheetrock, landscaping fabric, carpet, roofing shingles, copper wire(electrical cords)...
