The greatest Spyder

What do you think is the greatest Spyderco knife, why and how would you like to improve it.

My choice would be a se steel cricket.

Why? Because it's small so one always finds it in a pocket in use as a moneyclip, it has big knife performance. It's so friendly looking that it is as close to a politically correct, sheeple friendly and EFFECTIVE pocket knife as you can get.

I would improve it by having a more extreme reverse s profile at the tip to increase performance even more.

then venerable delica. jack of all trades, in my opinion. its not a monster of a knife, its just the right size to be legal just about everywhere. the price is low so that everyone can afford one. you just cant find a better deal.

The stainless fully serrated Police model (VG-10 steel).

I'd improve it by making the pocket-clip ambidextrious, adding non-slip texturing to the scales, and making the blade 5 inches long.

Welcome to the co Forums, Milu! The Military, for me, and clip up would make it perfect! RKBA!

Aloha! I feel that it's the Delica. It's the most effective ANYTIME,EVERYWHERE EDC knife. No improvements needed here...

Another of my all time spyders is the Walker...The blade geometry is just excellent, but I'd prefer a bit larger handle.

God will put you over...if you let Him!

I'll put my vote in for the Delica.
Carried one for about four years before I
realized that one spydie was not enough.

Welcome to the SPyderco Forum. For me, the ultimate Spydie is definitely the Delica. I have almost 20 Spydies but the Delica spends by far the most time with me (about 85%).
I have some improvements in mind, like changing the blade grind to full flat ground, making it in S30V (of course that would make it a Golden production) , adding some texturing to the blade spine (and a cobra hood), a screw pivot pin instead of the riveted one, a slightly modified lock and a bit more rounded FRN handles, with texturing zones, paired with a tip up/down / left/right lower ride wire clip.

Hello Milu-

Nice thread you choose here..

I guess the greatest spydie would have to be the very first one they made. It was way different. The HOLE, pocket clip, and those teeth!!!
I think the first one I had was the hunter not sure cause it was a long time ago.
Really the first one you ever get would be the greatest, huh...

In my opinion the tim wegner junior is the greatest knife ever produced. I have 30 spydies and I always go back the wegner or a delica.

Hmm, tricky. The Delica is my main workhorse but there are many features on the Native that I really like.

On balance I think I'd go for the Native. Although its not a change as such, I'd like a G-10 version to be available as standard alonside the FRN and SS versions.

My answer as always: Military PE. There are however some issues I'd like to see being improved.

The Military is a big knife. Therefore, the lanyard hole should, IMO, be larger. I'd like to attach a thicker cord than the flimsy one that I use today.

The Military should also be offered with left/right and tip up/tip down carry options.

And last but not least; I'd like to replace the Liner Lock with a Compression or Back Lock.

I know that the Liner Lock on the Military is considered being one of the strongest there is. It may be true but it's still a Liner Lock.

I have a half dozen or so Spydies and I think the Endura is a true workhorse. I can't even imagine going camping or hiking without it.
