Larger as in 2,75 inch blade to fill the gap between the(sadly dwarfed) Urban and the UKPK. Sal said they are waiting for a proto allready....aicolainen wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 3:50 amLove the ergos, but sadly I got in too late and have the dwarfed blade. It’s OK for when a slip joint is required, but the bulk to edge ratio sadly keeps it from seeping much regular carry.
What is the idea with the Metropolitan? Larger/smaller?
aicolainen wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 4:02 amInteresting. Could probably fit a 2,75” blade in a handle that’s almost urban sized. Just maybe there is some hope I can have pretty much the same perfect ergos with a more usable blade length and shape.
Wow! How cool.elena86 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 6:23 amaicolainen wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 4:02 amInteresting. Could probably fit a 2,75” blade in a handle that’s almost urban sized. How are the knife laws in Norway ? My daughter and my grandsons live in Oslo(Fornebu) and I visit them from time to time. No locking blades I guess...
aicolainen wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 9:45 amNorwegian knife laws, hmm. Sure you want to open that can of worms?...
I don't want to let that go unchallenged, as this is a very superficial way of looking at it, because there is no such thing as a European knife law. The bandwidth ranges from "everything is allowed" to "almost everything is forbidden", depending on the country in the EU.

My friends in the US should be able to understand that because it's very similar to their own situation.
I am fortunate enough to live in an area where carrying a 4.5 inch fixed blade conspicuously on my hip in the grocery store is totally fine and doesn't raise any eyebrows. It is sad that it can't be like that everywhere.apollo wrote: In this modern society we all live in if it is in the US or the EU carrying a knife publicly is never a thing you should do noticeable no matter the local laws. Had no idea there had been such a wonderful version. I would have loved to have had that one!apollo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 6:23 pmIn this modern society we all live in if it is in the US or the EU carrying a knife publicly is never a thing you should do noticeable no matter the local laws. Over the Urban i have a red exclusive with s90v and i like it allot. I use it regularly and it is a fine knife but i would never call it the best that spyderco ever made. I have many many other models in mind for that. But i am glad it has some hardcore fans.
You can still buy it. Its an Exclusive from Heinnie Haynes.Bemo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 9:26 pmHad no idea there had been such a wonderful version. I am very glad for you. But know this it only takes a 1 rotten apple to ruin a perfect basket. I hope i am wrong but if i was you i would enjoy it as much as possible before some “smart” guy comes along and ruin’s it for you just to lower some crime rates or whatever.Scandi Grind wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 7:10 pmI am fortunate enough to live in an area where carrying a 4.5 inch fixed blade conspicuously on my hip in the grocery store is totally fine and doesn't raise any eyebrows.
