Sal, will we ever see a wharncliffe Pacific Salt?
Carried my Yojumbo to work today because the blade shape works great for misc utility tasks.
I like the wharnie Endura but prefer the rust proof nature of the Pacific.
Any chance we'll see a run some day? Any steel (h1/h2/lc/200n/magnacut) or grind would work for me.

Re: Sal, will we ever see a wharncliffe Pacific Salt?
A wharnie Pac Salt with the graceful and elegant conformation of Evil D's serrated Caribbean would be wonderful. Less of a pocket hog than a wharnie Endura, too. In MagnaCut would be icing on the cake.

One knife I would be very happy to see made . Agree any steel would make no difference. I may be wrong but think Sal has commented . Fingers crossed! Dan

Re: Sal, will we ever see a wharncliffe Pacific Salt?
i've been asking for this for a while now. i'd love to see it as well. the negative angle wharncliffe gives you a lot of similar benefit as a hawkbill, but without the hawkbill drawbacks.
i've been seriously considering trying out k390 with this model, but i'd still buy a salt version in a heartbeat.

So many negative blade angle knives in the Spyderco lineup. Strangely enough, I have come to appreciate more neutral blade angles.

Re: Sal, will we ever see a wharncliffe Pacific Salt?
no problem. it was almost a year ago, so maybe he will give us an update?
i'm guessing there hasn't been any progress on this, given that there are still so many knives in the pipeline that we already know about and haven't seen, not to mention there is some kind of factory expansion or something that spyderco is focused on at the moment. seems like this would be an easy one to do though, since the handles and steel are already there and they already make the same blade shape as well. should only be a matter of some programming to combine the pacific salt handle with an lc200n wharncliffe endura blade.

Re: Sal, will we ever see a wharncliffe Pacific Salt?
Just my uneducated guess, but I think it will happen, someday.
Re: Sal, will we ever see a wharncliffe Pacific Salt?
I carried a Yojimbo 2 for years but I found that I like something with a slight amount of belly. The Pacific is actually around what I prefer. In a perfect world I think I'd have the same belly profile but with a couple degrees more negative blade angle so the tip hits surfaces earlier.

The Wharncliffe Endura was my favorite knife for quite a while. I would've opted for a salt version had it been available when I got it.

Re: Sal, will we ever see a wharncliffe Pacific Salt?
the wharncliffe endura handle wouldn't work because it's got liners. it would have to be a pacific salt handle. i think that should work though, since the wharncliffe endura was designed to fit in the standard endura handle.

Re: Sal, will we ever see a wharncliffe Pacific Salt?
Vivi I think it’d be a great knife and I want one.
Like in my other reply, I think a Salt Rockjumper in the same style as the current Pacific would fit me better, but a Wharny Pacfic Salt probably splits the difference between the hypothetical Salty Rockjumper and Salt “CliffJumper” ?
Does that make sense?

Re: Sal, will we ever see a wharncliffe Pacific Salt?
I think a leaf jumper xl could be the best spydie ever.
In general I prefer a shallow belly like the stock Pacific Salt offers. I EDC something like that on my off days.
But for a work knife I prefer a wharncliffe. They work well for utility tasks like slicing cardboard and plastic wrap.
Maybe I'll try an Atlantic Salt while I wait for a wharnie Pacific.

Vivi---
Dunno if you could ever bring yourself to try out a Byrd Wharnie, but for Black Friday, they were going for under $30.00. I have the serrated Cara Cara and Harrier 2 Wharnies and am very impressed. Edge stability and retention seem to me as good as H1. Corrosion resistance may not be up to your standards, but at 1/3 the price of comparable Salts, I don't mind using, abusing or losing one. A little heavier than linerless Seki Salts, but IMHO the build quality is actually better. A couple more reasons I like the Byrd Wharnies as opposed to the Endura Wharnie is that the contour of the spine on them is closer to Evil D's Caribbean SheepCliffe and the serrated Byrds run teeth closer to the tip. I look forward to a Salt Wharnie, but if anyone is on the fence about trying out wharnies to get a feel as to how they might serve their purposes, I can't recommend the Byrd wharnies highly enough.
