For me, it's more than just a particular model per se but moving forward with the concept of a handle forward back lock in future models. As far as steels go, that may be dependent upon the COO as VG-10 seems to be the base steel of Seki City models. Looking forward to Golden handle forward back lock models in the future. MagnaCut as one of Golden's base steels would have broad appeal IMHO......even without the full blown salt treatment.

We need to convince some retailer to make an Exclusive RJ.
dlt's cruwear with black blade and od frn. that would actually push other knives i want down on the list. it would sell out so easily.
keep your knife sharp and your focus sharper.

I was thinking more salty, but I'm liking your idea more.

I hope it gets better steel at some point. Why not try a different steel to see if it's the design or the steel that's not selling?

I think Sal's logic is unassailable. Bring out the black FRN VG10 Leafjumper and see how the market reacts. I'll gladly pick up a Leafjumper SE in a heartbeat.

Everyone that any of us know needs to get a Rockjumper or Leafjumper for Christmas this year. :-)

I absolutely understand that it makes no sense to introduce a Sprint version of a knife that is not selling all that well. But in my opinion it all comes down to the blade shape. Leaf would (and will) sell a lot better.

Straight edge is great for daily stuff

Also superior for SD

Will also get a Leaf

Hope to see K390

They do the leaf blade version I will definitely get one each SE/PE and I predict it will be a big seller in that format. They're already turning into my weekend work/gardening knives.

I think I stand by my original comment in this thread. I hope the Leafjumper will be more successful and lift up the RockJumper.
Although, I can foresee a similar situation to the Centofante 4 where the wharncliffe version of the knife is unfortunately discontinued.

I also like the idea of convincing retailers to get exclusives. I’d even go for that one red/black Zome variation with 20cv, but I like Zome more than others (I think there needs to be a climbing gym wall/holds inspired or natural rock themed Zome pattern).

And I’m not even all that sure a change in steel would do much because I thought the Province was one of the best production knives of its kind available. It was even quite unique with the 4V steel that offers superior performance.
Yet it was still discontinued.

I tend to like things that aren’t generally appreciated, it seems.

I'd love to have another shot at the Centofante 4. But I get what you're saying I think. Wharnie blades are a more cultivated taste.

I think my official vote goes to a Spy27 Rockjumper for a non-salt variation.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread!

Any news regarding RJ in steels other than VG10?

Thanks.

I recall somebody here said the sales won’t justify another version.

That’s a shame. But sure, lots of other choices…

I’m just wanting to get into the Wharncliffe blade… May look at a smaller Delica…

Thanx Ladybug. Interesting discussion. I guess we could try to "squeeze in" a "Leaf Jumper" in K390 to test?

sal
maybe if it does well, we'll see it in the rj also.

I’d be open to K390.

Doesn’t seem like there will be a particularly solid business case, though.

I assume it’s Seki City? And Seki seems to have fewer production scheduling difficulties than Golden…?

Hopefully the sales of the Leaf Jumper will strengthen the business case for sprints.

I love my Rockjumper and I’m all in for any steel variations of it or the Leaf bladed version.
There are a bunch of possibilities.
