Speaking of the Native...
The original blade design had a swedge and hollow grind
that made me swoon.
When I saw one for sale in pink
and a chance to support women's breast health,
I pounced on it.

Imagine how sad I was upon learning that the picture on the seller's web page
was an earlier version and the one I purchased was a later, flat grind version.

I ask you my friends, not necessarily pink
and maybe with a more exotic steel,
would a sprint run of the original blade design sell?
Anyone?

I too would love that blade design. At least one anyway. It just looks so darn cool!

I can imagine your disappointment!! :/

The "original" Native blade shape is so very cool and also really useful: The combo of hollow grind and swedge makes for a pretty "piercy" but still robust tip imo.

I got an FRN Native with that blade shape from the secondary market some time ago and enjoyed it a lot!
Sold it quite recently in one of the attempts of "being rational" and slimming down my array of Spydies, bt certainly not cause I would not like it!

Now for a sprint run: I figure the problem here might be that the FRN molds for the "old" handle shape probably don´t exist anymore? But certainly a hollow ground, "swedged" blade could be implemented in the current Native 5 too.
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

i'm definitely a fan of the old grind. i wish they would put out a new native with a similar grind to the old versions, but in the new handle. after my experience with the salt, that's probably the only way i'd get another native.

Was that a good experience or bad? I'm assuming that is the Native Salt?

more neutral. i like the knife a lot, but the grind is a little on the thick side. it feels thicker than my manix (probably because the manix has a taller blade). i know ffg is all the rage, but i really like a good hollow grind and would happily try a new native with this grind. i feel like it fits the name better too. and maybe even more with a se or ps blade.

Doesn't the Canis look something similar to that? Definitely not a knife you see around often.

I'm surprised these are still available. I would have expected them to have sold out quickly. The mint green definitely looks better with the coated blade and hardware 👍

Man that olive green is so nice. If we could ever order different color FRN scales for our knives I'd buy a lot in that color.
