Switch up after a doubles round of disc golf and then a second round of singles at another course… now:

I haven’t posted in a while so I’ll just recap. This has been my rotation the last few months. I’ve been carrying the Caribbean this week.

Moving it's way to my favorite all-around Spyderco user. I still think a Mid-Sized would be very successful once people experience that wonderful backlock. And those Cutlery Shoppe Exclusives are still available! Great option.

Carrying the G10 Native 5 with liners. I prefer this size to the Native Chief, but I would also be interested in trying out a model in between these sizes if one comes out.
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Since I have the Stretch XL SE, I got into quite regularly carrying two Spydies for the first time ever (till now I only did this when I explicitly wanted to test and compare two models).
The combo Stretch XL SE and Chap FRN works great for me! :
- The Stretch XL is an A.M.A.Z.I.N.G EDC folder. Perfect for every slicing task, so light, so "nimble", so "eager to cut", great serration pattern... But like often in life there is one little flip side: It is probably not the best "hard use" folder ever. Especially the very fine tip (even finer in the SE chisel grind), and perhaps even the long, very well tapered blade have their limits I guess.
While I love the knife in every "normal" cutting task, in the (rare) occasions where I want to "beat on" my folder or use the tip for drilling holes and so on I prefer the pretty robust, but still also "slicey" Chap as "hard use" option (which also has a much more solid built, though I think the linerless Stretch XL handle can certainly still handle everything I could throw on it).
- Now the great thing:
+ Weight-wise the Chap AND the Stretch XL combined still weigh a hair less than the S30V Manix alone for example...
+ and while the Stretch of course takes up some pocket space (not too much though, cause it thankfully has NO deep carry clip), the Chap is so slim and tiny that it can go almost unnoticed in the fifth pocket or where ever..
+ Plus: I have SE and PE with me (though I´d honestly rarely ever take PE over SE, aside from things like scraping resin of mountain pines from my hands with the edge or similar tasks).

Such a nice knife!!
/... no use because there´ll be no tasks for the knife or cause you do not WANT to use it?

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
If a knife goes in my pocket I am prepared to use it. As a city dweller I don't get too much reason to use a knife other than opening packaging and that doesn't count as use.
If I didn't want to use it, I wouldn't carry it.
