Working for a (this time not so remote) mountain hut again- mostly hauling, unpacking, stowing supplies.

Chap FRN as my knife of choice. Has pretty much replaced my sabre grind Delica as small knife option for that kind of "harder use" job.
The Chap is such a solid knife, one can really beat on that thing in my experience, but it is of course also slicier than the sg Delica

Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

One last morning stroll before heading back home. My skin feels like leather, but I'll definitely miss the ocean!

Hey Rick, I love the country and all it has to offer but I couldn’t imagine being away from the ocean for any length of time.

Sounds like you’ve had a good time splashing in the surf and there’s lots worse than looking for spots to take pics of knives on a beach, mate. :cheap-sunglasses

Pattada

Carried the Rockjumper for a month (quite some time ago now), and that showed, or taught, me that my preference is for a knife [blade] with "belly".

This knife (the Pattada) has really reinforced that for me, for sure. I've put my own edge on it, (325 grit, dmt coarse), and it's pretty freakin' outstanding.

Don't see this one carried a whole lot. Looks like a great knife. I have almost picked it up a couple of times. Anything you would change on it?

I like the knife quite a bit, and would recommend it.

That said...

-for me- if it could be made lighter, without changing it dimensionally, I'd do that.
Me being an 'old school' 'framer, my thoughts go quickly to: Could you skeletonize the liner on the non-lock side, or both sides? Could you / or why not use some 7075-T6 aluminum for the presentation side (not the liner lock side) liner? would that cause some dissimilar metal corr? seems like it might be less expensive? 7075-T6 is some pretty stout stuff, and I'm thinking aluminum is lighter than steel, so...

So, I like the knife a lot, and easily recommend it.
I was surprised at just how stout it is.
If I could make it lighter, that is the one thing I'd change.
All that said, it's weight does not, and will not, keep me from carrying & using it.

No worries, it’s still Wednesday! I’m late too. Centofante4 again for Wharncliffe Wednesday. Replacing some ceiling tiles after a leak. Couldn’t have picked a better Spydie for the job, except maybe that PM2…
