I've got the smooth black G-10 PM3 in Cru-wear, super nice well built knife, I just never ever carry it. I like this G-10 much better!

I have just snapped the blade on my Manix LW in S110V. Totally my fault. Lazy fire making and i broke it. I loved that knife but need a replacement.

The Manix has become my favourite knife and is my home edc for all tasks. So what version should I get next?

It will get (ab)used in home renovations general garden prodding… and fire making. I have a para3 in SPY27 & like it but are there any new Manix in fancy steels coming soon I should wait for and just buy a Sage for now? Should I just buy another in S110V or BD1N (great edc steel for me) and save up for a Shaman?

ps anyone know what happens to a rit dyed lw Manix in translucent blue? Does it become opaque?
If you are going to use it for a work knife, I recommend M390, G10's and Steel liners. :cheap-sunglasses

I stopped buying second hand knives a while ago. I limit my knife addiction by only buying new Spydercos and try to get knives that I will use/ can justify a task for.

S110V seems like it is hard to beat in the current or potential coming choices. If they bring out a magnacut I would love that but that could still be a while.
I generally also only buy new Spydercos and from reputable dealers... if this is a possibility at all. Not always the case though:

- I really, really wanted the HAP 40 sprints of Stretch 1 and Endura for several reasons, but when I realized this, the release of those sprints was long over, and so I had to go to the secondary market (actually I still got the HAP40 Stretch brand new from a reputable dealer, the Endura was lightly used)

- When a discontinued model pops up for sale and I absolutely want to try it - partly to "feel the past" of Spyderco, in times when I wasn´t into that brand yet (lately the case with the old style, FRN Native with its uniquely "swetched" and sabre hollow blade).

- One time I just could not say "no" to the package that was offered used (Endura 4 with Micarta scales, perfect combo for me).

If I didn´t have the Manix 2 (LW) that´s perfect for me already, this would probably a case where I´d have a look at the secondary market for a REX 45 one (LW or even G10, though I personally prefer the lightweights).

/ Anyway: Let us know what you got eventually! :smlling-eyes
