Drops on August 5. Cruwear. Is it another PM2 or Para 3?

Certainly looks like a Para 3 to me (the blade doesn't seem slender enough for a PM2).

Para 3, from the looks of it. The text on the PM2 tang is not curved.

Hmm, a Para 3 would be a welcome change from all the recent PM2 releases. I wonder if they will go with smooth G10 like their previous Native 5 Cruwear exclusive.

Thanks. I didn't even know they had released a Para 3 in that configuration. Their teaser photo makes it appear like the blade will be coated though. I hope they ordered more than 600 pieces this time :smlling-eyes

I'm curious about the "mystery" aspect. Is it an attempt to increase the hype, decrease it, or ...? I'm not really into the whole hype thing; too much of it in our world as it is already IMHO.

If it is a para 3 then I’m in. I’ve been waiting on the right tool steel to try DLC. I missed out on the last one from DLT.

To be fair, KC never mentioned mystery in their announcement. I just patterned the thread title after the recent "Mystery DLT Exclusive" thread. But yeah, the silhouette in the photo already reveals with little doubt what model the knife is.

The picture shows that it is a Para 3 with DLC coated Cruwear, not too much mystery there, the only thing we don't know is the handle material. I too wonder if they used Smooth G10? The smooth G10 models from the past have never seemed to sell as quickly as textured g10 models.

If you zoom in on the picture in Instagram, the handle texture definitely looks like regular peel ply G10. Unless of course, they pull a bait and switch at the last moment and reveal a different handle. If it's another G10, it will be a hard pass. I don't think anything can top the DLC Cruwear and purple G10 combo of the DLT version for me.

The handle definitely has a peel ply traction pattern...

Even zoomed in and "enhanced" it's still hard to tell what type of finish it actually is. Even on the smooth G10 models, there seems to be a visible "grain" to the g10.
