Re: SMKW Spyderco Exclusive?
It's been kind of disappointing seeing multiple versions of the same knife coming out weeks from each other. Mix it up a bit between releases.

Re: SMKW Spyderco Exclusive?
I just rec'd a SMKW catalog with May 2021 date on cover.
The Spyderco two page spread shows two Para3 models with bronze and copper scales. They have warning that Spyderco Warranty is voided. In addition, it also indicates this is a SMKW internal scale swap and not a factory exclusive. Most likely made in China poor quality scales with list price of $168.50.
Regards,
FK

Re: SMKW Spyderco Exclusive?
Their Bugout titanium scale set is very nice, so I would expect the same for their Spyderco scales. While the factory warranty is voided, SMKW will handle any issues, at least according to their website.FK wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 1:27 pmI just rec'd a SMKW catalog with May 2021 date on cover.

I do not believe this is the same as their upcoming exclusive however.

Re: SMKW Spyderco Exclusive?
I believe they said in the video that only couple people outside of Spyderco have seen it which leads me to believe this is purely a Spyderco deal with no aftermarket involvement.

Re: SMKW Spyderco Exclusive?
I drive by there at least once a week for work, so when they drop I’ll go put hands on merch’!
I know they sell Putnam scales for the Manix, but I don’t know who would cast(?) copper and bronze in the US for them.
For me personally lead-free raw brass might get my attention, but copper and bronze probably not.

I don't really see how they could advertise Winter Is Coming and then cheap out by failing to use Valyrian steel.
Or maybe dragonglass. That would be a dealbreaker for me, actually. I know it's great against walkers, but I can't even tell you how many times I've chipped an edge cutting zip ties with obsidian. And even with diamond stones, glass is a ***** to sharpen.

Re: SMKW Spyderco Exclusive?
From some vague hints from an SMKW employee, it's something a bit different, though the vagueness left some room. I think they ruled out a DLC-G10 exclusive though that leaves lots of options. Will see if I can find that discussion and clarify, without linking or citing anyone specific.

C22 Walker is a real, former model Spyderco made. Just throwing it out there as long shot possibility.

Re: SMKW Spyderco Exclusive?
No no! Love the way you think man! I was just putting it out there again so the powers that be can see multiple people guessing/wanting the same thing. Especially since that may not even be what it ends up being. A couple others mentioned it too. And I bumped a older thread that showed some “recent” interest. I’d even take a white frn version.JRinFL wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 7:42 amOh, sorry. I missed your post and should not have.PStone wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 7:38 amThat was my guess too. Re: SMKW Spyderco Exclusive?
White Walker! That would be awesome.
Re: SMKW Spyderco Exclusive?
A Walker would be a great break from the endless run of mainstream models of dealer exclusives that we have seen.
Do right always. It will give you satisfaction in life.

In fairness, they said Winter is coming and it's 120 out, Winter is a few months off lmao
