Well you must be special, legOFwhat?. I put 99 in my cart, and they said I could only buy 4! :smlling-eyes

Once it shows you can only buy 4 add 150 and hit update cart :)

I'm sure they'll disappear when the next mule drops.

There doesn't seem to be a limit on the SPY27 MT2.

My plan was to get an MT2 when T15 dropped, might get another m398 if they're still around...

Hmm never noticed that with S125V being predicted over Maxamet before.

After reading around Larrin's blog more, it seems his data set is pretty limited when it comes to molybdenum/tungsten carbide based alloys, so it seems like the equation might not very accurately predict the performance of Mo/W carbide alloys vs Vanadium carbide alloys ad well as it predicts Vanadium carbides vs Vanadium carbides.

I wonder if there's a way to ping him to weigh in with an opinion? It would be cool if he could tell us specifically what the carbide percentages are too.

In any case... Darn. I was really hoping based on the compositional similarities that T15 would hang around up there with Z-Max for a second. My excitement kinda fell off when I saw Larrin's numbers.

It seems like it could make decent competition for 10V if it has better corrosion resistance and grindability. I wonder if it could be a little cheaper to produce but offer similar performance if it was easier on the grinders.

I guess I am just struggling to see what the advantage to this steel would be or if it's just an opportunity to try a different flavor
I'm curious about vanadium carbide because there seems to be a big difference in the phases. It's kinda weird that other carbides get separated out into the different phases but with VC its all lumped together. Looking around you can find a few XRD tests of various tool steels and they all seem to mention different phases of VC, specifically V8C7.

In literature VC is the cubic phase and has the properties that people talk about like high hardness. V8C7 is also cubic it's just missing some carbon atoms. They both can pack together like a crystal since they're cubic but they have different properties.

It's a rabbit hole you just have to decide what's deep enough.

Was watching some old Knife or Death episodes on Hulu and saw something interesting. One of the competitors used a CPM-T15 chopper. It was James Clifton and he was actually sponsored by Spyderco in the 2022 Bladesports Championship. Not sure if he used T15 in BSI competition but he did set a 2x4 chop record with it a few years ago. I wonder if he influenced the production of this mule.

We're up to MT39...what happened to MT34 in T15?

And what was MT36 supposed to be? I can't find anything about it...

Any info to be shared on why this T15 Mule took one year after reveal to come to market? Perhaps heat-treat tweaking/dialing, or scheduling issues in Taichung? Initially I wasn't all that interested, but after being chuffed with the last few Mules released and doing a bit of research on the steel itself, this T15 has me itching for a piece (or two). Sounds like it perhaps was the baseline for the development of Maxamet and could be seen as a "Maxamet Lite".

Mine is due in on 7/5, I can’t wait! I have handles waiting for it too. This was the one I wanted before all the others piled up.
