Pocket EDC Mule hack

#1

Post by Fireman »

So, I think both of these are on thingverse. It’s a great way for me to pocket carry my mule and the interesting thing is that when I hook the sheath on my pocket when I pull the knife out, the sheath just drops right in my pocket. It’s the smallest profile sheath system for the mule I think.

This is how I carry mine most of the time (with the factory sheath) unless I'm at work. I hate how it takes so much more focus and two hands to put it back in the sheath though, which is why work just doesn't work for fixed blades for me.

You are a lot braver than I am to carry a fixed blade knife in your pocket like that.

I really like that low profile sheath. What options for those of us who don't print?

Check out craftcloud https://craftcloud3d.com/. They offer 3D printing services for a very reasonable fee. I've used them a couple of times in the past with no issues.

So, it's like an "Emerson Sheath"??? That's fairly intriguing. I'm looking for some low-profile sheaths for Mules, not necessarily for this application, but just to make them safer to use. Being mainly a folder user, I still have a lot of awkward situations when using a fixed blade.

If you go through the printed sheaths threads, you will probably see the link there

Very cool. I might try this!
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Fireman,

I actually have a new version that incorporates a side clip. Would this be a better option for your daily carry?
