Better edge retention than s110v? You don't have one and the stable needs new friends? 😜

I'm also trying to get excited about it... but I'll still get one anyway because I have an addiction that requires satisfaction :rofl .

High corrosion resistance and high edge retention, but less toughness than S110V. Kind of a niche spot but should be fun for cardboard duty.

I currently have all the Mules except the VG-10/Damascus one (MT07). At this point it feels like a requirement. I'll end up selling most of them at some point.

More importantly, if we want Spyderco to keep making them, we need to keep buying them.

I got 2 so I can sent one off for some testing and use the other one. No issues ordering.

Not needed, but why not use it as a kitchen knife. I lack a solid steak knife.

That's the most convincing argument yet.

Well, I'm not that excited, but I placed my order also. Maybe I'll get more excited when I put it together and use it. I did see that Herman Knives is using it and it is 8 more.

More Carbon and more Vanadium, more is better! Or something like that…. Edge holding on Larrins chart looks awesome. How’s that for exciting?

I got 2 this time and handles. Now, even if I give one as a gift, Stainless is easier for people to take care of.

I'm interested to test this in comparison to 15v. However I'm expecting it to be very chippy.

This will be my first steel far up in the high wear, lower toughness corner of the chart. I think of vg10 as a bit chip prone under abuse and M398 will be less tough than that. But the edge should last more than half again as long by Larrin's CATRA tests. Should be more stain resistant too. Curious how sharpening will go.
