I'm curious what you guys intended use is on this particular mule. I don't know a whole lot about REX 76 as it's a very rare steel to see used in knives. Are you guys planning on using it for a hard use utility knife, an outdoors fixed blade, an EDC, a kitchen steel? I'm just curious if you guys don't mind sharing.
Its like Hap40 which can be found in kitchen knives.

I wasn't going to get one for a couple of reasons: 1) I promised my wife before the release date that I wasn't going to purchase any knives this month, 2) I really haven't had my eye on anything recently, 3) I really don't need any new knives. But, 1) I made the promise before the announced release date, 2) I graduated in 1976, 3) I don't have a Rex45 Mule and this is extremely similar and 4) I said if it was still available after a bike ride I'd get one, so I did. The one thing that is great about getting a mule now is that it is easier to get a variety of scales on the dedicated Halperntitanium site.

These are the mental gymnastics I use before eating another piece of cake…

Except HAP40 is run slightly softer due to the lower volume of tungsten and cobalt.

Right on guys thanks for answering my question and giving me some insight on what your plans are for this particular Mule. It's a pretty sweet steel but I just can't swing it at this very moment in my life.

Got mine at 12:05PM (CT) - luckily I remembered that a drop was happening and popped over to see it was live.

I have similar plans to play with: 1. sharpening methods and 2. asymmetric bevels.

I expect Rex76 to be a decent shop knife: 15.5-17.5° bps, with a semi-toothy edge (20-15 micron), light stropping.

While L. Thomas's test don't show allot of promise for R76 I think it's high hardness may have some applications in the shop.
Asymmetrical bevels huh? What is your thinking behind your experiments with that, I'm curious.

I picked one up at SFO on Tuesday and it is wicked sharp. Looking forward to throwing some scales on over the weekend and testing it out.

I just hope we can finally have a Mule team knife where people report about use and sharpening. Seems like everyone talks about how it works in the kitchen, which is basically pointless for a steel like this, or they just fit them with some nice scales and keep the knife all nice nice. Seems like this program isn't really working out the way it was intended. The feedback on these knives is always extremely minimal.
Relative abundance of supply should help that. When people have a 'rare' and 'collectible' blade, they are much less likely to really test it to the limit.

Still impressive to move ~900 pieces in 2 days without Magnacut levels of hype. Good stuff! Excited to see people use these and report back.

Mine delivers tomorrow. It'll be fun to see how it compares to the Spy27 and Magnacut versions in use. One of the first Mules I did not get multiples of.
