Extra info about the new SRS13/SUS405 steel

#1

Post by R1monkey »

So I never had a laminated/clad general purpose balde only in a santoku.
perhaps someone can share more info about the new mule steel.
Maybe a comaprison to other more familiar steels would help.
I googled the stuff and it seems to be in some high high end kitchen knives... Usualy a kitchen knife the more expensive high end they are the more fragile they get. Is SRS13/SUS405 super fragile?

Welcome! Assume you read the similar thread which so far contains the collective knowledge about SRS13?

I did a search for SRS13 and SRS15 on this forum and came up with some good context. Honestly, the website we are currently posting on may have more info on the steel than anywhere else, at least online in English!

In another thread about the steel Deadboxhero/BigBrownBear/Shawn had good things to say about the steel and his experiences.
