That’s an excellent design!

Unfortunately, I’m usually a solid-tee sort of guy, so something this complicated would not work for me on a shirt.

Bolster,
Love the shield. What do you think about removing the filigree(?) and helmet, making the shield and banner larger, a forward facing mule head or a rearing up mule on top with knife in mouth possibly?

How about a simplified heraldry, with just the Mule Shield ?

Perhaps with some red, as a reminder of Spyderco's colours :

Althoutgh the B&W version is more visually striking, I couldn't find a good balance with the coloured version.

I like the modifications! Good work, carry on, folks...

Find me a rearing-up mule you like and I'll give it a try. I belive the hearaldry folks call that "Mule Rampant." Knife in mouth is beyond my abilities however. You'd need a real artist to do perspective work on that.

I really like the shield!
It needs the banner with “Mule Team” if Sal will let us or maybe just the shield imho. Thank you guys!

I have a couple of hopefully contributive observations on the simplified version.

A) The mules white muzzles get lost in the white diagonal banner, so I like Fireman’s idea of “Mule Team” there.

B) Color(s) of the shirt should be decided first? For instance a white shirt would need a "stronger" border on the shield.

From a Google Img search with "rearing up mule" :

These are copyrighted and anyway not exactly what we look for, but can serve as base models.
The donkey's head would need to be raised, and its mouth opened - so that a Mule can be inserted between its teeth.

We can use "MT" if need be - insiders will know what it's about :cheap-sunglasses

Indeed, actually it looks like a rabbit smoking with a pipe :squinting-tongue
But it needn't be removed IMHO, just slightly reworked. Drawing a heavier black line over the muzzle, to better delineate it.

The logo would be the most important part to decide on. After that, making variants will be comparatively easier ; and it most case it would just be a matter of contrasting the colours of the logo with that of the t-shirt.

I like the mule face front view, centered without the words, and no harness.

What else? Vertical Mule blades flanking on each side?

The mule's ears are shown as MT knife blades?

It would be nice to have a few different designs to meet the taste of the buyer. Great stuff guys ! I got a good laugh out of a rabbit smoking a pipe lol. What does the great Sal think?

I like the inside knowledge thing about MT. It takes one to know one. It’s like Kessel run in 12 parsecs. Nobody knows what is was but that made it cool.

Here are the two previous drafts with a rough, yet better outlined mule. It looks like an actual mule now :zany

I like araignee's last version "v3b" for simplicity and a little mystery.

Also like Bolster's latest, though it may be a little wide proportionally.

What does the fine print say? I would not want random people getting too close to me.

For those who prefer a simple shield design, with several different font options. I have avoided using the Spyderco bug since I'm not certain where we stand with copyrighted logos, although I imagine the shape of the Mule is basically a trade-mark in itself. Reviewing this, I think the (animal) mule should be kicking out of the border; I'll fix that, if this is the design the Muleros want to develop.
