Is that the Spyderco kydex?

Does anyone use the leather sheath that Spyderco has?

I contacted couple kydex sheath makers (since the Spyderco one is out of stock) and none of them are taking orders.
I just got the leather sheath. Haven’t put it to much use yet. Seems okay. Says made in Japan. Is a bit stiff but the sewing, riveting, and edge finish are all quality. I’m not into the belt loop but it is going to ride in a pack anyways.

Is there something specific you would like to know or see?
Appreciate the info. If you are able to post pics, I wouldn’t mind a pic of the back side of the sheath and also the mule in the sheath. If not, no worries.
This is with Halpern slim (number 5) scales. As said it is stiff and new, but even with those thin scales it has solid retention.
No way you are pulling it out one handed at this stage. Looking closer I do think the construction is very robust and well done.

Attachments limited so trying web link.... if broken I'll keep trying :zany

Awesome pics, thanks. I think this is the best option for me right now but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Shipping is basically half the price of the sheath but I guess I just need to suck it up and order it.

Has anyone "Wet formed" the Spyderco leather sheath with Halpern scales, either #4 or #5?

Finally was going to pull the trigger on the leather sheath and it’s now out of stock…lol. That’s what I deserve for waiting.

I've been enjoying the Boltaron sheath in a scout carry on the back of my belt. Out of the way and still very fast to draw when needed. It can be a bit tricky to put back depending on the clothing I am wearing but overall I am liking it there. And surprisingly, it is pretty comfortable when driving my truck or sitting in my office chair. Much less digging into my side than vertical carry on my hip.

thanks for the pictures, everyone! while i'm waiting on everything to restock, i decided to throw some paracord on and make a "sheath" out of thin cardboard and gorilla tape. it's good enough to ride in my pack for now.

ImageI checked some containers and found this sheath for a CRKT Ken Onion limited edition. Fits very well, I can use it until I figure out something else .

that looks great! i've been thinking about trying to find that kind of sheath for the mule instead of a standard belt sheath.

The knife made for it is actually a very well built knife , very ergonomic, and K110 steel (D2). I plan to use it in year Deer hunting to test . Onion gave prototypes to Alaskan guides to test before it went into production. I will post in other sometime . MG2

I 3d printed them from JoshCrutchleys design. I have recently started blending my own colors and just put this "grape Jelly" set on my Magnacut Mule. It looks like I'll be able to make pretty much any color in a wide variety of shades and saturation. I have a bunch of SS hardware on the way right now so I can start offering them to forum members for their blades. Shoot me a PM if you want a set.

Leather sheath is back in stock but it’s now $40 (instead of $30) + $13 shipping. All the awesome pictures in this thread made them raise the price…lol. Should have just purchased one from the beginning. Oh well.
