Crazy....the whole process took less than 5 minutes, but my first attempt was an hour after initial drop time.

This was pretty much my experience too, and what eventually worked was I had copied the link to clipboard and I opened a new tab and basically started over instead of refreshing the same page more, and it zipped right through.

Tried to pick one up this morning but the Spyderco site was non responsive. Finally was able to add one to my cart but by the time I went to check out it was out of stock even though it showed initially as available in my cart. I completely give up on this mule crap.

Is the mule magna cut a part of the first melt or a second melt? If the second melt, we’re there any differences in the processing of the steel?

Welcome to our forum.

Sorry for your frustration. We try to anticipate, but demand exceeded our expectations.

success! hence the woot. :) i'm looking forward to trying my first mule. i've had chances at some of the past miles, but wasn't interested in them until it was too late. i wasn't going to let this one pass if i could help it. i even had to tell work i had an appointment (i didn't lie... they all knew why i was leaving to find somewhere with good service on my phone because my work computers won't allow me to use spyderco's site). this kind of drop on a cell phone was rough, but i'm not letting skynet win.

I heard the first melt contained actual Larrin tears of stress and worry. There's a rumor he dropped a pair of his signature nerd glasses in the melt when he bent over to stir it by hand, but I'm not sure I believe that. But the report that Larrin walked across the top of the melt without sinking in...that part I do believe.

I'm a believer.

it wasn't really much of a sacrifice. it was just a frustrating process. hopefully, i'll enjoy it more because it lives up to the hype. ;)

Awesome, congrats! Took almost an hour on my end too, or maybe more than an hour...time sure looks dysfunctional when you're up at 1AM fighting sleep and exhaustion trying to get one - but I managed to get mine too, thanks in part to all the forum members here who encouraged not to give up trying. Good thing your phone data signal held up! Looking forward to your thoughts on your first mule.

I think Larrin is too much of a scientist to allow his melt be contaminated by potassium filled tears!
