In a way I wish I had saved the factory sharp edge for this project. Z-Max vs Moose hair/hide.
Not much to say other than, it would be nice to have a Z-Max Ulu to do this work with.
I keep my diamond stones near by and touch up along the way. Hair came off easy.
I'll skip the gooey bits on the other side. But, I will say that a really sharp knife is a pleasure to use when removing thin membranes.
It is hard to tell how much time I have saved with having a high edge retention steel. It feels like a lot of savings, less sharpening, and fast work with a sharper blade.
Check back in 6-8 months and this hide just may look like slippers.

Awesome!
By the way, is it blue-died stock scales on the Mule? Or some aftermarket ones?

Scales are Halpern. 3d textured G10. I might like them a little fatter but no complaints. Good grip in the goo.

Well, hide tanned. 1st project done. Now at least one mule has a nice place to rest after all that hard work.
