Printed Sheath

#1

Post by Fireman »

What do you guys think about printing a sheath? Something similar to the Bolteron one using tension to hold it in and maybe a sliding tensioner? Perhaps one that will fit the regular scales and no scales? Two piece with screws or one piece?

Would the screw be to adjust the tension? 3 D printing is not something I understand but it’s intriguing what can be made.

The Esee laser strike sheath is amazing. you slide the screw and it is locked in and when it is down it acts like a regular kydex sheath. A two piece print is probably the best but I am no expert.

Interesting. Don't know when I'd want to use a screwdriver to completely lock the knife in the sheath, BUT it looks like it's adjustable so you can slide the screw anywhere along the slot to make the retention more or less...is that how it works? Thanks for posting it.

The screw just slides up and down and is not tightened. The kydex works perfectly for retention but the lock is there for when you want to be absolutely sure it does not come out.
@2 min 15 seconds. It works great. One of my favorite sheaths.
