Mine should have been here today in the mid-Atlantic but it was delayed by a day.

Re: Who got a Z-Max?
Got mine today as well, printing up some scales now. It will scrape hair off but it's not super sharp... My buddy Mr. KME and I will be changing that soon.

Re: Who got a Z-Max?
Just got done sharpening up, and I have to say, this steel will take a nasty edge. It's obviously hard and feels very wear resistant under the stones (took a while to get to 15°), but it might be as sharp as I've ever gotten a knife, tree topping hairs left and right with the grain.

Re: Who got a Z-Max?
Feels like I've not been here in forever! Mine came in yesterday, but it will be a bit before I make the scales. I have some blue shred CF with glue G-10 liners that is waiting for me to get time to work in the garage. I started on one of my SPY27 mules with blue terotuf but haven't done anything more than get the rough shape...same with the Province and Raffir
They've both been sitting since January :o

Re: Who got a Z-Max?
Mine arrived yesterday, got cord wrapped last night and is in my sheath at work today. So far, nothing to cut, but that will change.
Re: Who got a Z-Max?
I am stunned! It already arrived at my doorstep!

Re: Who got a Z-Max?
Any pics of paracord wrapped Z-Max????
Re: Who got a Z-Max?
Did NOT get a Z-Max. Wanted one! Could not get my order in.
Better luck next time I hope.
The only thing keeping me from an eBay purchase is that I don't want to reward a scalper...
I'll just have to enjoy the Z-Max vicariously as you folks enjoy yours...

Re: Who got a Z-Max?
Nothing fancy or great. I did use the two holes at the end to tie off the paracord.

Not me, I was so disappointed that I haven't been back here or the website since. Had it in my cart and then had issues with my password. I almost cried. Seriously I was frustrated.

Re: Who got a Z-Max?
Here is my Z-Max with 550 just so I can test / play with it. I might add scales if it is a keeper but the chance for rust scares me on this one.
I wanted to use some orange 750 cord I had but it was just to big to get through the holes.
A special thanks to yablanowitz for his para cord guide.

Re: Who got a Z-Max?
Only of the inner layer. I have a cut on my thumb (no, not from wrapping THIS mule - I was careless when I pulled my RWL34 mule out of it's sheath yesterday evening...), so I'd be staining the outer wrap, since there are already some blood stains on the inner layer now...
This inner layer is made of cored Battlecord. It's much thicker, thus the inner/base layer is more even.

Re: Who got a Z-Max?
Done. My best work yet, I think.
Some will say it's quite dilettantish to just melt & glue the ends of the paracord, but I repeatedly fail at making nice looking knots or things like that. Melting works best for me. :p
Now, on to some kitchen duty! :)
