Mule musings
Ordered some stabilised timber for some Mule handles last night and the website had a glitch.
The shipping came to $2569.70
A quick email with this reply
Oh boy, if the freight would cost that much I wouldn't sell anything so yes, you are correct, I checked and there was a mistake of the blank of the Cork wood square blank, its real weight is .425gr and the system had it at 425.kgEmoji sorry...!
You would more than a medium postal bag at about $14.00
Please try again...!
Cheers
Thought shipping can get expensive but...... Happy with the outcome.

Re: Mule musings
The nice thing when you pay for that much for shipping is that it gets delivered a day before you ordered it.

425kg it would have been a raw 10ft log sitting in the driveway....

Well... If you could have gotten 425 kilograms for the price of 0.425 kilograms and all you had to pay was that shipping, then it would have been a good deal.

Might make a nice scale or pattern in a timber scale.

Has anyone used that stuff? I've seen it around but never tried working with it. I'm mostly curious to see a photo of a finished handle using it. My concern is that it might end up looking kind of tacky or cheap.
Anyone happen to have photos of a finished product?
