Bolivar cannot carry double. Mule can.

Post by AlexRus »

Hi guys, I've taken the audacity to add a small line to O. Henry's famous line to create a Mule Team slogan.
So, it becomes:

Bolivar cannot carry double. Mule can.
:cheap-sunglasses

Sounds like a good slogan for a Mule Team?
What do you think? Please, share your ideas for Mule Team slogans/mottos

* "Bolivar cannot carry double."
(c) from "The Roads We Take" by O. Henry.

** "Mule can"
(c) not from O. Henry... But yet :)

Clever.

(One problem however is that Americans do not read literature, and many, perhaps most, would not know who O. Henry was.)

I do know who O Henry was, but I admit I had never read that story. I googled it and read it after reading this post, though.

What about famous movie quotes? We can play on them to create Mule Team slogans too:)

Show me the Mulie!
(play on "Show me the money!" - Jerry Maguire, 1996)

I feel the need - the need for speed! High-speed steel Mule! :cool:
(play on "I feel the need - the need for speed!" - Top Gun, 1986)

May the Mule be with you.
(play on "May the Force be with you." - Star Wars, 1977)

"Go ahead, make my Mule."

I actually read a fair bit, but O Henry isn't really on my list.

Wouldn't Lewis Carrol be more fitting?

"His vorpal mule went snicker-snack..."

Or maybe;

"Look on my Mules, ye mighty, and despair."

"Weave a circle round him thrice, And close your eyes with holy dread, For he on Maxamet hath fed, And drunk the milk of Magna-Cut."

Maybe I'm just delirious. Going to bed now.

Just because Americans havent read that literature doesnt mean they dont read literature at all.

I wish all that required reading from school had a better selection of material though.

True...Americans still read...classic literature is falling out of fashion tho. In my own defense, the last book read was Larrin Thomas' Knife Engineering. The characters were thin, but the plot was great.

What about dialogs? Do those thin characters have good dialogs in the book or it's mostly action? :)

I thought the edges were thin and the composition was great. ;)
