need to say - within 10 minutes after that post, I was happy to catch a "window" in overloaded connection and complete my purchase (have filled all forms super fast).
Order was shipped away in 3 hours literally, waiting for delivery now! thanks team

Hello Kristi,
thank you for welcoming me to the Spyderco family. The Mule aroused my interest when I was recently able to purchase an MT07 from private and then finished editing it.
The first mule that I was able to buy from you now will be provided with blue handles from Cuscadi, which were included with the MT07. A Mule Team Leather Sheath for the MT07 and a Mule Team Bolton Sheath for the MT31 complete the whole.
Greetings Johannes

Sweet, doubly fortunate indeed. I was able to get each of my sons a #29. Our summer project will be to make handles for them.

I have no idea how I missed this for 2 weeks. I heard about the sale a couple hours after it happened and they were gone in 15 minutes. The past 2 have been super hard to get.

I think having a regular run Mule would really cut down on this but I don't know for sure. I hope so, because I'd like to be able to buy more without having to stalk this forum and bang on the refresh button for half an hour to get one :P

Congrats on folks who did get them. I realize that if I were more vigilant, I almost certainly would have gotten at least 1.

I don’t think it’s something to apologize for. I understand people are upset they missed out, and I admit I’m one of them, however I also think that having a limited run product like this that has the demand is a good thing. Keeps an interest and a value to it. Sure, I wish I would have gotten in on it, and I’ll try even harder next go round, but I don’t think it’s necessarily a problem for you all to fix. This Mule isn’t the life of your company so if there more demand than product it seems to me that’s better than having excess product sitting around on shelves that isn’t selling.

Just one guy’s (I’m sure unpopular) opinion.

Hi Sal,

I hope pre-purchase, deposit, or Mule-only subscription options under consideration. I know these all have downsides and some risk for Spyderco, including increased overhead. I would have no issue if the priced needed to increase to support a different sales model for Mules.

Maybe an x% non-refundable deposit to secure one? This in addition to the current release model gives customers the option to secure one or to try to get one at release. No downside for customers. It may also help give Spyderco an indication of demand if they deposits were collected early enough.

Looks good. How does the sheath fit? The mule sits tight? Comes in and out of sheath easily? Or needs strength to apply to disengage the Mule handle from the sheath?

Yes the sheath fits great! Nice and tight. The knife going into sheath makes a nice snappy sound. The easiest way to get the knife out one handed is use your thumb to push against the sheath while pulling, if that makes sense.
