Awesome job! I was told by a wood worker that with really oily woods that wiping down with acetone first to cut some of that oil creates a better bond with the epoxy. Is that something any of you really knowledgeable handle makers have heard as well?
Thanks! That was given as part of the instructions on the epoxy I used, so I did just that, wiping down both the wood surfaces and the steel with acetone. (After roughing them up with sandpaper.)

That's how I'd like to carry mine, but the blade clicks in so firmly to the sheath that when I go to pull the knife out, the sheath comes with it, unless of course I just push down on the sheath with my thumb while pulling the knife out. Which I guess really shouldn't be an issue.

Good question! That's exactly what you should do. You can also use mineral spirits, denatured alcohol, or naphtha as well. In fact, most of the wood species that are best suited for knife handles (without stabilizing) are going to have a high oil content. Here's a link to some tips about getting consistent results when gluing oily wood. Also, the list of "oily" wood species on the link is a good (albeit incomplete) list of potential knife handle wood options. Any of them that are both "high oil content" and "high density" are worthy considerations.

If you check the GL Hansen (G-Carta) website periodically, they have lots of 'sprint run' micarta in interesting patterns.

Screech, are those basically lanyard tubes? Did you do them for a functional reason, or just to look cool (which they do, so nice work)?

It's just a cool way to attach scales to the Mule with its strange hole pattern in the handle. It makes them stand out too me thinks. I also think this handle style goes along well with Spydercos "hole motif".
