I had a lot of other projects to end during the holidays (they now are finished), so I can't show my next Mule yet !
The G10 liner and stabilized elder burl have been stuck together and the holes for the mosaïc pin and corby bolts have been made. I don't want to show the wood yet, but it's another excellent (and pricy) piece that I'll make the best efforts to honor with the finish product !
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

Robin. Finally made an IG : ramo_knives

Thanks Larry, I think they are beautiful too.
Still photos just don't do justice to the depth and 3D shimmer inherent in these special maples.

Great looking Mules bob! I'd bet the shimmer of those handles has a nearly holographic look. It's always a little disappointing to take a pic of a figured, fiddle-back, tiger-striped, or curly wood because there's SO much more to see when it's in motion.

Very nice work!

2 mules done and 4 posts to the forum. That gets you batting 500. Honestly, I am not a baseball fan. But I am a fan of guys harnessing their Mules and getting them out there. Nice work.

ykspydiefan: just a nit, that paracord handle was 3rd mule project, so I'm batting 600 including this post.

TMI: I actually hit 600 back in the day, in our company slow pitch league.
Could usually put a liner between 1st & 2nd, they never did learn to shift.

I haven't made a knife or shaped a handle in a long time, but I made this one up for my brother in law in an srs13 mule and I think it turned out decent! Wenge with brass pins

We've also both got rex 76 mules waiting for plans, I'm really interested in that!

One more mule, this time in SPY27 with Maple and blue epoxy scales
Dialed in shape of the scales a lot more on these and feels much better in hand.
Tried setting the brass inserts and pushed a little harder than necessary, cracked the rear... still learning, but enjoying the process

Since I didn't have a deadline for this Mule, I took my time.
I'm working on 3 handles for blades which are ready, a XC75 "Mule", that will of course never leave the home since it's blatant copy, I just want this steel in the same format as my Mules to compare ! and a design I came up with (not sure about the grind yet).

And finally, the handle I am making for a Rex76 Mule. Let's say that it is at the step where no mchines will be used going forward, all the rest will be done by hand.

So how do those circular brass connectors work? Did you make them yourself from tubes of brass? And how do you "set" them?
Looking really good, BTW.

For me it’s just from lanyard brass tubing, set like pins. (Which is available at most knife suppliers)
