Sheath locking system

#1

Post by Maremmen Jager »

Hi Guys,
I would like to make a sheath kydex or leather for my upcoming Mule.
I would like to attach it in the inside Molle panel of a Mystery Ranch Asap.
What do you suggest?
I am curious about Ulticlip or Tech Lok Bladetech.

Some of the real life go-fast guys just lash their knife sheaths on using 550 cord. Simple still works. Both of the two you mention will work, the Utiliclip being the least bulky.

I like 550 cord because it can keep the sheath "more snug" to whatever it's attached to; it doesn't have the "standoff" that many dedicated clips do. Though if you are using the knife a lot and re-sheathing constantly, then the standoff might be handy, making the handle more accessible. Sorta like how old west gunslingers had their pistols canted out, butt far clear from the side of their legs.

CK's tutorial demonstrates the attachment of a Spyderco G-clip, and also shows "self made" Kydex clips. See: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=89755

Blade-Tech's MOLLE Loks are excellent for attachment to actual MOLLE platforms.

Thank you for the reply.
I have attached a picture of the inside molle panel.
My plan is to have a to have the Mule inside the pack, and to use only during specific moment.
I don't need to have it ready to use, hence my plan is a leather sheath attached to the panel.
G-Clip looks too big related to knife size...

The actual boltron sheath would be perfect for what you want… several aftermarket handles also fit

Just have to ask for the Glow scales removable. They will be able to make them as a custom as they did for me.
