Replacing a BY07GS & BY07GP

#1

Post by JMM »

A couple years ago now, I had a SpyderPac stolen from my apartment, and while I have managed to replace 14 of the 18 knives (all were spyderco or byrd), two that I have had the worst time with have been the Crossbill duo I so badly miss.... I guess my question is, are these things truly impossible to find any longer? I have searched and searched on the usual secondary markets.... Does anyone have any pointers on where one might look to find such wonderful beasts?

...Boop...

No one has any suggestions? They really are magnificent cutting machines, dollar for dollar some of the most amazing cutting tools I've ever seen/owned/used?

Hi JMM,

That was one of Erics designs. I'll look around my office.

I've seen the stainless versions which are rather hard on the hands, in the cold in particular, I've looked everywhere for the PE & SE versions in G10 (which I had originally) but have never been able to find either let alone both, it's just been something of a personal agenda to have my first spydie-pak back exactly the way it was... I'm a tad OCD about such things, I have tracked down the full size brown Calypso & Blackhawk on ebay & ArizonaCustom respectively, which will be the last two to get my very first spydie-pak restored to it's former glory. :) I just have to stop buying every Shaman model I can get my hands on long enough so I can finish my original mission. :)
If you ever stumble across some old stock or know of any supplier/retailer with em on a old stock shelf somewhere, I'd jump at the chance to get my hands on them! Thank you for your time & energy Sal, I am touched that you took the time to reach out!

Cheers,

Hi John,

Yes,

I just got it a couple of days ago. Actually, I thought to blew me off. My bad. They would have mailed it to children's hospital. "That sal, he's always doing something like this". ( Children's saved Eric when he was born, so I pay back and forward ). I still have the knife on my desk. I was never notified of your check due to the Covid lock-down. I've been working from home and the entire company has been cattywompas, but still operating. I'll take you word for it on the check. email me your mailing address.
