I got my first FRN Byrd today and noticed strange marks on the inside of the scales.
Is this typical?
Seems to function fine, but it looks odd.
Is this normal for FRN Byrds?

Re: Is this normal for FRN Byrds?
Uke seemed to have addressed this in his Cara Cara 2 review. Looking at his photo and yours I'd say it's probably normal.

All of them have it. Seems to be tooling marks.
I thought you have had Byrds before? Are you going to zero grind it? :p

Believe it or not I've only purchased G10 and SS Byrds up until this one. I had a G10 Cara Cara the week they released, but have always stuck with Salts for FRN knives.anagarika wrote:All of them have it. Seems to be tooling marks.

I'll leave the SE portion as is, and will eventually thin out the PE part.
I like how thin the blade stock is towards the tip compared to the Cara Cara 1 and my Pacific Salts. Nice surprise.
