Can the blade of the ML be replaced with the blade of the Delica and work properly?

They are 2 different knives.

I understand that. Was wondering if it was ever attempted. They look close enough to possibly work.

Haven't tried it, but I'm pretty certain they won't work. They aren't really that similar- choil/no choil and it's almost certain that lock interfaces are completely different.

I tried today checking Endura VG10 FFG and Endura SuperBlue FFG. The lockbar interface did not fit if I swap just the blade, and that is of the same model.

The blade and lockbar are hand-fitted into each knife. They need to be swapped together as the tolerances are such that swapping just the blades is likely to cause poor fitment or locking, or perhaps just not fit at all. And that's delica to delica, or meadowlark to meadowlark.

Huge difference between them. Open both and look at the lock screw, where the lock and blade meet, etc, from the spine and compare. The Delica 4 lockbar is considerably longer than the Meadowlark 2.

Holy zombie thread, Batman!
