What steel was used?

#1

Post by DutchBlades »

I recently bought myself a Byrd (8Tool) Harp.
It's still in the blister packaging and I wasn't planning on using it,
but I was still curious about the tool steel(s) used.
From what I've heard/read, the quality seems to be on the lower end of the scale.
But nothing regarding the actual material is mentioned on catalog site...
Spydiewiki doens't have any info on it and other sources just state it is a heat treated stainless steel.

Does anyone know the actual steel on these?

Hi Dutchblades,

The model has been long disco'd (except for an occassional exclusive ). I'm guessing that we used a 4Cr or 5Cr as their were no really sharp cutting edges.

What better way to get your answer then from the man himself? ;)
Thanks Sal!
