So many good posts and the only way to add kudos it to put another post in the thread.

Not sure if the forum engine will support it but yeah, I agree.

Yes, been asked for many times.

However, Sal & crew want to foster discussions, not clicks. Like Buttons or similar are not likely to happen.

Yeah and I tend to agree with that. I think what would be far more useful is the @member function so we can mention people without having to quote their post.

Since it’s been brought up a handful of times in the past and my thoughts have not changed at all, I’ll keep them brief - I am fully not in favor of a like button.

This is a Spyderco discussion forum, not fakebook.

this is why i often edit what i'm quoting to just show what i'm referencing, or even just to show that i'm quoting the person to get their attention. when you get a lot of text and pictures being quoted multiple times, it just makes other posts get lost in the conversation.

You just type @mongo1958 and it sends a notification to you just like it would if you had been quoted.

I'm with David on this - no need for a like button, but being able to mention someone would be nice.

No to a Like function, which promotes showing off and brigading.

Yes to an @ function, which promotes further discussion, including all-important clarification.

LIKE!

I think it furthers communication, not hinders it.
A 'Like' can show that one has read something, read and agrees, or thinks that one post or pic is outstanding.
For instance, it could give member feedback on photo contests, ideas and comments.
I 'like' em.
